"Hello Ms. D'Martinez."
Nash was in a blue hospital gown, tired but glowing.
"Hi, Marissa." Nash smiles back to the pediatrician, laying back on the bed with her small stomach in full display.
"And you're the father?" Doctor Callahan asks, no judgement on her face whatsoever.
She was a kind, older Australian lady with 29 years of experience in neonatal nursing.
She had delivered many D'Martinez children and was the family doctor.
She would be the one to deliver Nash's child.
"Yes." Jesse lies for Nash, smiling and holding her hand.
"Are you guys excited?" She asks while placing the cool gel on Nash's importing womb.
"Very." Nash smiles, looking at the screen.
"It" was beautiful.
The screen was dark with only white colors illuminating the baby who was smiling and fidgeting around.
"At three months, the baby can now move with the mother while inside the womb. She can also smile and make silly faces, she is also constantly breathing amniotic fluid in the lungs. Life is precious, I'm glad you didn't abort it."
"Don't worry, I won't tell. You won't get in trouble, I agree with you." Nash smiled, tears streaming down her face in joy.
She was having a baby girl.
Jess was completely in awe of the child, staring at the screen with admiration.
"This is so you can hear the heartbeat," the doctor puts a small machine against the bottom of her womb.
True to the doctors words, the heartbeat was rapid and there.
The heartbeat made everything seem so real.
Nash was in tears as she stared at the baby, she was so in love with her baby and they hadn't even met.
"So your parents know about this?"
"Not yet.."
"I'm sorry if I come off as rude but I know your parents, Nayeli. What happens if they kick you out?"
The thought had passed her mind, no, it owned her mind.
She became haunted by the thought.
Nayeli was privileged, she always had been, so what would happen when she isn't?
"We intend to raise it in his house." Nash replied.
Jesse's father died and left behind a three bedroom townhouse in Manhattan for him.
As soon as he turns eighteen, which was in six short months, it would be his.
"You should tell your parents." The kind lady said earnestly, she really did want the best for Nash and her boyfriend.
"And we will. Soon. I promise. Um could I maybe get a 3D copy of the sonogram?"
"Of course, darling. It will be shipped to your house in two to five business days."
"Thank you." Nash smiled before turning to Jess, who was paralyzed in love.
"Sorry, it-she's just..perfect."
And she was perfect.
She was the perfect offspring sprung from two very imperfect people-she was a miracle.

"What is it?! Is it a girl!" Mel exclaimed, rushing over to Nash's side once the doors were open.
Mel got kicked out of the hospital for fighting the secretary.
Only the baby's parents could be there for the ultrasound.
"No, it's a boy." Gray replies.
"You're both wrong. It's a miracle."
"A what?" Grayson asks, "stop playing games. That's my niece or nephew-"
"Niece." Mel says cockily, a grin on her face.
"Jess..you tell them."
"It's a girl."
Mel started screaming and jumping up and down, hugging Nash by the shoulders.
"I'm so happy for you!" Mel smiled before turning to Grayson, "I won the bet so our next date is on you."
Mel laughed so victoriously and radiantly, she could have cured cancer.
"You don't pay for your dates?" Jesse asks, giving Grayson a bizarre stare.
"Mel doesn't let me..she thinks she's my 'charity case."' Grayson frowns, hands firm on the steering wheel to his black Mercedes Benz.
"Well you gotta prove her wrong. Girls like Mel..they are strong, they make you think they're happy when in reality they are breaking inside."
