Chapter nineteen Day at the beach

Mari's pov
It's been a few days since we started working at Smosh games and it's our day off today and a nice, warm, sunny day so we're going to the beach for a family day out.
I start making breakfast while Wes is sorting out his car.
I eat a little bit then go to Jenny's room.
She's sitting in her crib playing with her toy duck.
I pick her up and carry her to the kitchen, sit her in her high chair and feed her baby food.
As I clean her mouth, after she's finished, Wes comes in and gets himself some orange juice.
I then go to the bedroom and change into my beachwear.

I go back to the kitchen, pick up Jenny and take her to her room to change her into beachwear.

I go to the living room with Jenny to see Wes in his beachwear too.

I kiss his cheek then get Jenny's diaper bag full of diapers, baby wipes, bottles and pacifiers then head out the door, to Wes's car and fasten Jenny in her car seat.
I then get in the car and Wes locks up the house then gets in the car and pulls out of the driveway.
After about forty minutes of driving, we finally arrive at the beach.
We get out the car, I get some stuff while Wes gets Jenny.
We walk along the beach for a couple minutes and see Joven, Sohinki and Flitz here.
Flitz is another one of our coworkers, we barely see him around the office but he's a fun guy to hang out with.
"Hey guys" I greet as we sit with them.
"Hey Mari, hey Wes, Hi Jenny!" Flitz greets, smiling and holding his arms out to hold Jenny.
Wes passes her to him and he starts bouncing her making her giggle.
Flitz really enjoys playing with Jenny and she enjoys time with him, he's even teaching her to call him uncle Flitzy but she's not talking yet.
"Hey, you guys enjoying your day off too?" Sohinki asks.
"Yeah, we thought we'd bring Jenny down to the beach" I reply.
"Anyone wanna join me in the water?" Wes asks, standing up.
"Yeah, why not?" Joven replies, standing up too.
"I'll come" Sohinki says, following them.
They run to the water while me and Flitz stay here with Jenny.
Flitz then sits Jenny on the sand and she starts laughing.
I smile at her and make little sand piles with her.
I then realise it's getting really hot so I stand up and pick up Jenny.
"Flitz, I'm gonna take Jenny to the water to cool down, you coming" I ask him.
"Nah. I'mma stay here" He replies.
"Ok"
I walk over to the water, carrying Jenny as I get closer, the boys notice me.
"Hey baby! Coming in?!" Wes asks, walking towards me.
"Yeah, it was getting hot" I tell him and feel the cold water at my feet.
I go further into the water until it reaches my waist and hold Jenny under her arms so I can dip her in the water.
I then notice Joven walking towards me.
"Hey Mari, can I take Jenny closer to the shore?" He asks me.
"Uh sure" I reply and hand her to him.
He smirks and walks away with Jenny.
He looks over his shoulder at me, still smirking.
Before I can even question myself about what he's smirking at, Wes pops up out of the water, in front of me, scaring me.
I scream and fall on my ass, in the water.
I glare up Wes as he laughs at me.
"Got you honey!" He exclaims, laughing.
I stand up and hit his arm a few times.
"Wes! Don't do that!" I whine.
He continues laughing as I continue to glare.
He eventually calms down and looks at me with an innocent smile.
"Aw! I'm sorry Mari" He says in an adorable voice and hugs me.
I eventually smile and hug back but that doesn't mean I don't want revenge.
As he starts to pull away, I quickly put my hands on his chest and push him.
I turn and try to run in the water but I hear splashing behind me, getting closer.
I then feel two arms wrap around me and lift me up.
I hear Wes laughing, victoriously and try to get out of his grip.
"Wes! Put me down!" I exclaim, laughing.
He doesn't listen and carries me back to the sand.
I then slip out of his grip and run closer to the sand and when the water is at my ankles, Wes grabs my arm and pulls me to his chest.
We spin for a second then Wes falls backwards, taking me with him.
He lands on his back while I land on top of him.
We laugh for a few minutes and I look down at him, smiling and he does the same, looking up at me.
"So we even now?" He asks.
I shake my head and lean down and kiss him.
"Now we're even" I say.
We kiss again but it turns into making out.
We stop to someone clearing their throat.
"You do realise there are kids here right?" Sohinki questions us.
I look up to see him, Joven and Flitz with Jenny in his arms.
I get off of Wes and we stand up.
"Sorry guys. Got caught up in the moment" I state, looking at Wes.
"Looked more like your tongue got caught in his mouth" Flitz comments.
"Uh yeah" Wes says, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.
We eventually dropped the subject and went to get ice cream.
After another hour, we decided to go home.
Joven, Flitz and Sohinki said that they were gonna stay for a little longer so me and Wes head back to the car.
Jenny fell asleep ten minutes ago so Wes carriers her and fastens her in.
We get back home, change Jenny's diaper and clothes then put her in the crib for a nap.
Wes and I change.

And sit on the couch and watch a movie.
I'm too tired and lazy to cook right now so we order Indian food, watch another movie and go to the bathroom and bathe together.
After, Jenny starts crying so I go to her room, take her to the kitchen and give her some warm milk.
She starts to fall asleep again so I put her back to bed then sit on the porch with Wes.
We start feeling sleepy and go to bed.
More work tomorrow, gotta be ready for it.
