Chapter 5: More than a feeling

Chapter 5:

You wake up in your own bed, wondering how you even got there. Tifa opens the door to your room and sees that you are already awake.

"Well good morning, Sleeping Beauty!" Tifa jokes. "If you're wondering how you got here, you should know that Leon carried you to your bed."

You blush. "Did I really fall asleep in the car?"

Tifa nods, a knowing smile spreading across her face. "Better get ready for practice! Your trainer's waiting for you."

"Oh snap!!" you shout as you throw your bed sheets off and run to your closet. "Cloud's gonna kill me!"

Tifa walks out of your room and shuts the door behind her. "Sure...Cloud is going to be furious." Tifa says to herself.

As you rush to the arena with your gear, you do a double-take as you realize that there is no blonde, spiky-haired trainer. Instead the person standing before you with an impatient scowl on his face is...

"Leon?!" you yell in disbelief. "Where's Cloud?"

"You're late," he says, without giving an explanation.

You bite your bottom lip and look down at your feet. "Um...sorry..." you apologize. "I guess I was just really worn out from the party last night."

Leon waves you off, a sign you hope means that he forgives you for sleeping in too late. "Let's just get started, okay?" he tells you.

You nod your head and grin before leaping toward him with your sword. Leon quickly swings his gunblade over his shoulder to block you. You evade his blow and circle around to attack him once more. This was going to be good practice.

By the end of your lesson, both you and Leon are sweating. Leon smiles and looks at you for a minute, his gray eyes glued to your sapphire ones. You smile back, especially since it's rare to see anything even close to a smirk on Leon's face.

"You did pretty well today," Leon commends you, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"Yeah, well, I've got a pretty good teacher," you reply. "And thanks."

You give him one last grin before you suddenly hear your cellphone ring noisily. You fall out of your trance and quickly pick up the phone.

"Hello?" you answer.

"______, it's me, Noctis..."

"Noctis!?" you scream in surprise. "Where have you been? You haven't answered a single letter, let alone a phone call! I..."

"Calm down, little sis!" He chuckles.

"Okay, now you just sound like Cloud!" you argue.

"Who?" your brother inquires.

"Never mind," you sigh. "Where are you?"

"Right outside of RANGER headquarters," he replies.

"I'll be right there!" you shout excitedly.

Leon looks over at you with a confused look on his face.

"I gotta go! I'll see you later!" you tell him as you dash out of the training arena.

Leon watches as you sprint for the door and leave. Who is this Noctis guy? And why were you so happy to see him? He decided to follow you to see who this guy was. He hoped he wasn't your boyfriend. When he peeked out of the window of the front of the building he spotted a muscular guy with dark hair and blue eyes wrapping you in a giant hug and spinning you around. He knew it. This guy HAD to be your boyfriend. How could he have been stupid enough to believe a girl like you was single. As he began to turn around and walk away he heard you call his name as you opened the door.

"Leon!" you shouted. "I want you to meet my brother. Noctis, this is Leon. He's a good friend of mine."
