Chapter 15;
"_______," A voice echoed. "_____, wake up, I want to show you something."
"Five more minutes, Mom..." you mumbled groggily.
You heard a stifled chuckle that sounded familiar and opened your eyes slowly. "Leon? Hey," you said, a smile growing on your face.
"Morning, sleepyhead," Leon laughed. "Mom? Really? Was your mother that manly of a woman?"
"Oh, shush," you giggled. "So what could you possibly want to show me at six o'clock in the morning, right before school?"
"You'll see," he said with a secretive smile. You followed after him, his hand holding on to yours. You were so eager to see the surprise that you almost tripped on your oversized pajama bottoms. "Alright, close your eyes," Leon commanded. You shut them tightly and heard a window opening. "Now you can look."
You opened your eyes and saw the most glorious sunrise you had ever seen in your life. "Wow..." you breathed.
"Let's sit on the edge," Leon suggested.
You cowered behind him. "Leon, I'm terrified of heights!" you whimpered.
"Relax," he said, holding on to you protectively. "There's no way I'm letting you get hurt again. Trust me, it's totally worth it."
You finally gave in and let him lead you toward the edge of the large window (kind of like the place where Xion, Axel, and Roxas eat sea salt ice cream) and let your legs dangle over the edge. Leon wrapped an arm around you and held you close. The two of you looked out at the sunrise for about an hour, just enjoying the breeze and the cool feel of the early morning.
"I wish you were going to school with me," you sighed.
"You'll see me everyday when you get back," Leon replied. "Plus you'll get a break from training."
"I guess," you shrugged. You glanced at your phone that you had put in your pocket. "Shoot! It's already seven! School starts in thirty minutes!"
Leon nodded and helped you off of the edge of the window and back into the room. "See you later, _____," he said, giving you a reassuring smile.
"Careful, smiling's starting to become a habit for you," you laughed.
"Must be contagious," he chuckled. "Now go, you're going to be late."
You dashed toward your room and quickly threw on your uniform, minus the blazer. You brushed your hair and teeth and walked to the kitchen to grab something to eat.
"Roxas, Axel, and Namine are going to walk with you to school," Cloud told you as he tossed you a pop tart. "They're waiting outside right now."
