Chapter 19: Musical moments and creepy encounters

Chapter 19:

"Wake up, _______!" Rikku shouted, jumping up and down on your bed like a kangaroo.

"Rikku, it's Saturday," you mumbled. You had had a long first week at school and were looking forward to a restful weekend until Rikku had awakened you.

"Yunnie told me to wake you up!" Rikku explained. "We have band practice today!"

You jolted out of bed. "Band practice?!"

"Yeah, everyone else is already here," Rikku said, pointing to the guys who were waiting near your open bedroom door. You looked at the baby blue pajama bottoms with flying pigs on them and noticed you were wearing a skimpy pink tank top.

"Uhhh..." you began.

"You guys! Get out of here!" Rikku yelled, shooing the boys away from your room.

"Awww," Axel pouted. "But ______ looks so cute in her piggy pjs, got it memorized?!"

"Out!" you demanded and he left with the other guys. "You too, KK," you told your peppy friend and she pranced out of your room. You closed your bedroom door and searched through your closet, pulling on a pair of shorts and a Paramore T-shirt. You heard a knock at the door and slid on a pair of flip flops before opening the door.

"Hey," Leon said. "So, would you mind telling me why there are so many people out in the living room?" he asked in a confused manner

"I might have started a, um, band," you responded. "Wanna join?"

Leon let out a laugh. "Nah, I've got to go practice and run some errands, but thanks. Oh, while I'm out, do you want me to pick up something for you at Starbucks?"

You nodded vigorously. "Yes! Could you pick me up a caramel macchiato, please?" you asked him.

"No prob," he answered and you gave him a bear hug.

"Thanks, Leon!" you squealed as he hugged you back. "Okay, I better go meet up with everyone before Rikku comes back to get me!" You ran off and slid down the stair rail until you ended up in the living room where Rikku, Yuna, Sora, Roxas, Riku, Namine, Aqua, Axel, Demyx, and Zack were waiting for you.

"Heya, guys!" you greeted, still feeling hyper from the electricity from your hug with Leon.

Everyone greeted you and Sora came forward. He looked cautiously at the other band members who nodded at him. Sora cleared his throat and took out some sheet music. "We were kind of thinking about playing this song..." he offered, handing you the sheet.

You received the music and read the title. "Broken, that song with Seether and Amy Lee?" Sora nodded and the other members looked hopefully at you. "I like it!" you said, smiling at the your friends. "Let's do it!"

A couple of cheers rang out and Axel began to tune his guitar while Zack did the same for his bass. Demyx set up a keyboard as Aqua sat in front of her drum set, gently tapping on the cymbal with her drumsticks. Rikku and Yuna, to your surprise, pulled out a violin and viola, since they wouldn't be of much use as background singers. Sora and Roxas, meanwhile, were going over lighting plans and stage settings as Namine walked up to you. "Hi, ____. So, I came up with a band name with the others and a logo, but I wanted to run it by you." She stated. You picked up her sketchbook and examined the logo: a spiral of fire and one of water twisted around a guitar that was broken in half. 'Elemental Breakdown' was the band name.
