Chapter 20: Suspicion

Chapter 20:

Secret Scene:

S: "I presume you have obtained the DNA sample from Ms. Goodlocke?"

K: "Yes, sir...now when will we see mother?"

Y: "Is this girl our mother?"

L: "Or perhaps our sister?"

S: "That cannot be ascertained at the moment. I need the three of you to work in the lab with 'S'. remember to inform him that we are doing research to cure her 'illness'. Be sure to give him no reason to suspect we intend to do anything but help Ms. Goodlocke. Is that clear?"

K: "Crystal."

L: "But what about sch--"

Y: "My brother meant to say 'yes sir'.

S: "Good. I must leave for the time being. Run as many tests as you must."

K: "What is so special about this girl, anyhow?"

Y: "She is lovely, but I do not see any particular reason to pursue her."

S: "That is confidential. Goodbye."

You ran outside only to meet up with a smug-looking Axel.

"Morning, gorgeous," he said smoothly. "Ready to go?"

"Where's everyone else?" you questioned, looking around for Riku and Xion.

"Couldn't make it, I'm not too sorry to say," he responded, looping an arm through yours. "Why don't we just skip school and head over to the state fair? Tomorrow's the last day it's open."

You shook your head. "Axel, you know that I'd rather be anywhere else but Saix's class, but if you get caught for truancy, you'll be kicked out of DIHS." You scampered in front of him and spun around to face him, your hands behind your back. "We wouldn't want that, would we?" You told him playfully before rushing ahead toward the school.

"Wait up, babe!" he shouted, taking off after you. when he finally caught up with you, he swung you over his shoulder playfully.

"Axel, stop it!" You giggled, smacking his behind with your binder.

"Then how about a piggy back ride?" He offered.

"Fine," you sighed in mock annoyance. Axel crouched down so that you could climb onto his shoulders and the two of you traveled toward the school.
