Chapter 22: Life's a state fair

Chapter 22:

"Here we are," Zack gestured toward a colossal field of flawless, green grass.

"_________," a voice drawled as a pair of warm (make that hot) arms surrounded you. "You made it." Axel spun you around and gave you a smirk, his emerald eyes glinting mischieviously in the sun.

"Pay no attention to this player, yo," Reno told you, whisking you out of Axel's arms.

"Um..." you began, unsure of how to respond.

"Hey! Looks like the guest of honor is here!" Announced the excited voice of Vaan. Demyx and Tidus followed the blonde, and greeted you with fist bumps and Terra and Ventus arrived last, welcoming you with a group hug. You noticed an auburn-haired boy walking toward you.

"Hello, princess," he said cooly, taking your hand in his and kissing it. "I'm Genesis. Pleased to make your aquaintance." A couple of the boys scoffed but you simply blushed and drew your hand away. Sometimes you really wished that Leon went to school with you, that way you could avoid these situations.

"Get over here, you bums!" Barret barked at the boys. "You're here to join the school's football team, not a reverse harem!"

Your face turned a deep shade of red and you backed away to sit on the bleachers. The boys all dashed toward the field, Axel being the only one brave enough to give you a wave before running toward the field.

"For that, flamer, you get double the push-ups!" Barret yelled. Axel merely shrugged but gulped when Barret threatened to triple the push-ups if he showed any more disrespect.

You rested your back on the back of the bleachers and held your hand over your eyes as the sun began to shine. Suddenly, you heard a girl panting and noticed a girl with short blonde hair, and antennae-like extensions rest a gloved hand on the side of the bleachers.

"Have you *huff* seen *huff* Demyx?" she wheezed.

"Larxene? What are you doing here?" you asked in surprise.

"I just *huff* switched schools today," she began. "How else am I going to get revenge on Demyx for going on that panty raid with Axel in MY ROOM!"

You stiffled a laugh. "Why don't you sit?" you offered. "Demyx and Axel are trying out for the football team right now but I'm sure you'll be able to strangle them afterwards."
