Max gave me a two-hour lecture. Something about being responsible and that I shouldn't be hiding in Charlie's room that I should be out and about doing ordinary people things and acting all confused about this whole thing, I don't know something to that effect, I wasn't really paying attention.

I'm not too worried, Charlie was there, and I'm sure he'd give me a recap of what I missed.

But that was earlier, right after I had managed to sneak us to his place and get Kevin partially settled in. Now, it was nearing midnight, and I had already answered well over dozens of calls for help only to find that just one was genuine, all the others were reporters and strange fangirls trying to get my attention.

Like right now, there's a guy screaming for help. However, his heart rate has not accelerated, and the slight click from starting a recording device was enough for me to roll my eyes and stay where I was, which was way up high in the sky.

I should have gone higher.

"There you are!" Charlie panted, flying up next to me. "Whew, you sure are high, there's hardly any oxygen up here."

I looked over at him and noticed his face was a patchy red from trying to breathe. I rolled my eyes and looked back down at the city. "Calm down, take slow even breaths and don't work yourself up into a frenzy. If you start feeling lightheaded, nauseated or if you get cramps, you need to head down."

"Why?" He asked, putting a hand on his side and wincing.

"Altitude sickness. Have you ever been this high?"

He shook his head, looking more and more terrible with each passing second.

"You know, I was really enjoying it up here," I grumbled, grabbing his arm and yanking him back to earth. I absorbed our shock when we landed on the Mars building and gave him a surge of energy so he'd get over the altitude sickness quicker.

"Sorry saving my life was inconvenient for you," he gasped, putting his hands on his knees and catching his breath. "How can you be that high?"

"Gotten used to it."

He shook his head and finally straightened back up. "Thanks."

"Anyway, why were you trying to find me?"

"Black Cobra."

"He got taken?" I asked, a little too much enthusiasm in my voice.

Charlie laughed and shook his head. "No. He wants to talk to you."

"Oh, where is he?" Okay Coal, don't sound so disappointed.

Charlie took an extravagant step to the side, revealing Gray Rattlesnake hidden in the shadows. How convenient. I knew I should've landed on my brick building instead!

"Coal Black, I should have known," BC snickered, slithering out of the darkness and into the moonlight.

I laughed and shook my head. "You mean the Coal Black from high school who was in that nerdy superhero club? You think that's me? Last I checked he's still struggling with his acne and bad eating habits. Besides, you think I'd be that careless?"
