This deleted scene takes place after Coal was taken, after Ben left Molly at Coal's mother's house and right after Ben left to go answer Black Cobra. It was an alternate chapter... Anyway I just thought it's be interesting to share... There is actually no point to this chapter, but I didn't have the heart to delete it lol XD
Charlie's POV:
It was awkward. It doesn't help that I'm a fairly awkward person, and that the one who usually smooths things out, aka Molly, was out cold on the couch because Doctor Daniels gave her something to calm her down.
I wonder if Coal knew about Doctor Daniels being his mother, but she didn't know that Coal was Flaming Spark, and apparently Doctor Daniels didn't even know Coal was engaged. What is it with this family and keeping secrets?
"So... What's it like being a superhero?" Marie asked. She was sitting on the couch across from me, curled up in the corner, she had been typing furiously on her phone but now it was abandoned facedown next to her.
"No," I said, turning from her and looked back at Molly. I really didn't know what I was supposed to do, and I was just really wishing I could get back to King City right now instead of being cross-examined by Coal's sister.
"No?" Marie asked, scrunching up her face. "It was just a-"
"No. Just no."
"But-"
"Listen, I may be best friends with your brother but that doesn't mean we need to get along."
Marie gasped and threw a pillow at me. "Well then fine jerk! I can't see how you are 'best friends' with Coal! You're grouchy and cranky."
"You would be too if someone threw a horseshoe at you!" I said, throwing the pillow back at her and trying not to grin when it hit her right in her face. Score one for Charlie.
"Get along or else both of you are grounded!" Coal's mom yelled from the kitchen.
We both went dead quiet, arms crossed and giving each other the evil eye. Whatever happens, I will not be the first to blink, I do not care that something just fell in my eye, I am tough.
Finally, Marie rolled her eyes. "Well, I have to get to dance class now, unlike an uncultured superhero who probably doesn't know the difference between a waltz clog and a shuffle ball change."
I laughed loudly and jumped to my feet at the same time she did. "You can't go anywhere, I need to keep an eye on you three, until Anti Gravity tells me I can leave."
"And how long is that going to be?" She asked, putting her hands on her hips and looking just like Coal when he's been specifically forbidden to do something but is going to do it anyway. Man, I really miss that idiot.
"As long as it takes," I said.
Marie stepped up to me and looked me straight in the eye since we apparently shared the same height. She steeled me with her brown eyes and furrowed her eyebrows. "Unless I just take off running."
"You wouldn't," I said, narrowing my eyes.
Marie held my stare for a long moment, her frown went away and a smirk turned the corners of her mouth. "Is it hot wearing all that green spandex?"
