Chapter 28:
Lea's POV:
A lot is happening. We, Ash, Liam, Trent and I, are ready to fight back. I'm really not too worried right now, but give me time. Bex ran off. She didn't say where, but my guess is for something. That something was must be very important otherwise she wouldn't have left. But for all I know it's because of someone. My gut is telling me all these different things. My brain says to trust everything that is being fed to it but something doesn't sit right. I need to pick which one is the best answer, but I can't do that quite yet. Everything needs to filter out first.
A knock on my door breaks me from my thoughts.
"Who is it?" My voice is stern, like usual, but a bit of an edge to it. Honestly. I don't mean to be so rough but I can't help it. This is who I've become. Stubborn, edgy, determined. Nothing more is to be there for me, even if I will it.
"Your boyfriend." Boyfriend. That word hasn't been said around me since my older sister, Kay, was around. She'd always talk about them as if they were a fine piece of jewelry that she would constantly want to yell at.
"Oh, he's a total loser." Playfully, he peers through the crack of the master bedroom's door. Trent's beautiful blue eyes stand out a above every other feature of him. Even with his deep brown hair and muscly arms. "I bet he got sand put in his sandwiches on the playground when he was in elementary school."
"Yeah, as a matter of fact, he did." Trent comes deeper into the room, shutting the door behind him, and sits on the bed by me. "Actually the girl that put the sand in sandwich it is sitting right next to him." Instinctively, I lean over and punch his arm. "She also puts the a** in class." This time i punch him even harder, then lean over and kiss him. He doesn't object. "She's also the you in my 'I love you' s.' " I can't help it, I kiss him again. This time I pull back, suddenly out of breath.
"Trent!" I'm in awe. "Something isn't right."
"What do you mean? Everything is wrong." Trent says dumbfounded. I quark my eye-brown. "Except you. You're fabulous." He winks at me but then goes right back into serious mode.
Within seconds the moment changes. "It's going to happen. Soon." I say in a strained voice. My arm stings where the trace use to be. A stray tear sheds from my blue eyes.
I swear I hear Trent mumble, "That b*stard." Immediately, Trent has me in his arms, waiting until the horrible burn in my arm goes. Once it does he waits for what piece of information I have next. Every day it is something new.
We don't think Eric knows that I get this information. Something went wrong in his program. Whenever he transmit data, it goes to me. Trent and I figured this out about a week ago. That's when everything went berserk.
My pulse quickens, my eyes gloss over in tears. My fist ball up and I keel over. As my teeth grit, I hold back from screaming. Every-time something new comes in, it takes from me. Energy is draining from every bit of me.
Trent waits, knowing that their is nothing he can do but give me comfort.
Images flash by my eyes, distracting me from feeling pain. Eyes glass over in anticipation of the next picture. About ---- pictures pass by.
The picture first shows a blue serum within a glass syringes. The needle is looked to be one that could puncture skin, much like doctors use to do. The syringes sits in a hand, the back being pushed by a hand into a glass cup. It mixes with some kind of liquid.
The next picture shows crates upon crates being put in train cars. The railway has been restored recently, from observation, and i see one being crate being covered with a wood top. Within the crate sits the blue stuff from the syringes in little test tubes. Each is perfectly portions and packed strategically to avoid damage.
