Chapter 13:
Liam's POV:
I'm shooting up the zombies and next thing I now Ash is in my arms. Everything just happened so suddenly. We end out locking eyes. She squints her eyes and smile, reading my expression.
"All the zombies are mostly- oh" I'm not even aware I was talking because I got lost in her eyes. It takes me a minute to notice that Trent is standing right next to me. I set the beautiful girl down.
Wait... Did I say beautiful?
Well she is but.. I think I mean it on a high level than just saying it for her confidence.
I have FEELINGS for her? I think I do.. Who wouldn't? I mean look at her! Her beautiful blonde hair, soft blue eyes, her glasses suiting her completion perfectly. The way she looked at me... Does this mean she likes me too? Or is it she's just grateful I caught her? I feel like it could be either, but I hope that it's more than just gratefulness.
Then Trent talks, breaking me from thought.
"We need a plan." I nod my head.
"Round off maneuver?" I ask. Ash and Trent nod. Lea is alone on the roof. Andy is with Bex. The others went to behind the garage.
"ROUND OFF MANEUVER!" I yell. Everyone repeats until I know we all heard.
The next twenty-minutes go off in beautiful chaos. Everyone rounds around and switches spots in a systematic shoot down.
This maneuver never fails when you have the right people.
And then the wave of zombies is done. That feeling you get is like no other when you take down zombies. It's a small portion of guilt, mixed with a bit of pride for protecting not only yourself, by yourself, for yourself. But doing it with the people who's got your back and will fight and risk themselves for you.
That's all you could need.
Within five minutes after the wave all of us, with the exemption of Andrea and Bex, meets in one spot. Except for one crazy dirty-blonde-haired, blue-grey-green-eyed girl.
Lea.
"Trent!" Yells Lea from the top of the roof. He looks up, a questioning look on his face. "Can you catching?" A confused look blows over his face for a moment until he smiles.
"I'm pretty sure. Why?" He asks calling back up.
"Well the zombies aren't really spreading over us now and you all left me up here so..." My little sister smiles. Gosh she is shaping up to be an amazing leader. Not so much Andy. She likes to follow orders and do what she needs to do.
"So I'm going to catch you?" Trent opens his arms not waiting for an answer. She jumps down from the roof and into his arms with a huge grin on both of their faces.
"Precisely." Welp.
"L. There something you forgot to tell me?"
Lea's POV:
"L. There something you forgot to tell me?"
And there it is. He's going to find out. I didn't really tell him that Trent and I were a thing.
Wait...
We are a thing.
As in an item.
A couple.
Boyfriend and girlfriend...
Damn.
"Liam... Come talk to me in the house... ALONE." Trent sets me down. Peering over his shoulder, I make it very clear that it's just Liam and I going to talk. Liam nods, and we go up onto the deck into the second level of the house. I'm surprised this old place has lasted. It's nearly thirty-five years old. Well it's older than that. Considering that was when we left at the age of ten. That's when the zombies got at their worst in our town.
