Chapter 7:
Lea's POV:
I'm talking to Trent about the situation, and next thing I know, he's kissing me!
Do I really, honestly like him, or is this whole entire thing just as crazy as it seems to me, Bex, and Ashley?
I pull away and give him the meanest glare I've ever given anyone ever.
"What the hell was that!" I demand of him. I'm not saying that I didn't like it, but it was so uncalled for! Couldn't he have done it after we solved this all?
I know Ash and Bex are right there, watching. They always seems to be watching.. I know I can't be to soft on him, especially after Ash's rant not to long ago. We can't just leave him but I'm unsure if i can trust this bowzo...
If I am to soft on him, she might kill me, or worse... Him...
Anyway, if I want anything on what happened to her, I have to keep him at a safe distance. No matter what the costs...
"I really like you and.. Um...I know this may seem crazy but... I remember you from my childhood... Your brother and I, Liam... We always hung out together and played together... We always hung out tonight.... Don't you remember?..." Something triggers inside me... A memory?
*Flashback*
Liam and I run around the house frantically as a boy chases after us, water guns in all of our hands, and sprays at us. I have a huge shoulder bag of water balloons on my side as I run frantically.
"Lea, we need to get to the play-house stat! He's gaining and that's our only good spot. T, he's a fast one, won't be able to get us from there... On the cdount of three!" Liam looks back.
"One...." I take alook back.
"Two..." Heavy breaths.
"Three..." We dodge off to the familair play-house, soaking wet. I take a sneak back and to see Trenton only a few feet away.
"Liam!" But it's to late.
"Your mine, L!" He yells as we collide. My water balloons cover the ground as I slide across the ground.
"Dang it, T!" I whine as we laugh. Our eyes lock, those beautiful sea-like eyes...
Liam sneaks up behind him and sprays him, claiming his victory.
*Present time*
I knew it! I knew it was him! Those eyes were always so familiar, I can't believe I didn't realize it was him!
"Oh... My... Gosh... Trenton!!" I scream out as I embrace him. His curly hair covers his face as his eyes lock on mine. "Is that really you?!" I know I shouldn't be hugging him in front of them but I don't care right now.
He's the only connection to the good part of my life. Where I had everyone and everything that was dearest to me.
He's the only connection that could bring me to Liam and Andrea. The two most important things in my life that I will ever have had.
He can help get me there.
"The one and only." We share smiles as Ash and Bex conviently walk in.
"I just can't believe it! I thought I knew those eyes! Do you remember our water fight that Liam actually one for once?" I laugh and he does too as Ash and Bex stare at us, unsure.
"It was his birthday, so of course he won! Everyone at the party agreed we would.... And then when I smashed into you? How'd I forget! I still have the scar on my leg where that shoulderbag cut it. Do you still have the one on you stomach from my water gun?" We laugh and smile.
"Show your scar, I show mine." He lifts up his pant leg to show a faint scar in the tan of his shin. I observe taking in the memory, then slightly lifting my shirt to show my belly. The jagged puple scar shows out briefly on the white of my stomach. "Well. It really, truely is you, T. You know I've missed you... It's been so long since we've seen each other! It's been what... six, seven years?"
"Seems about right..." He starts to move in for a hug but Ash clearing her throat stops us.
"Aww.... A reunion..." She says cold.
This could be a problem....
-----
We all situate in the living room. Ash didn't want to go to any other room in the house... I can understand that...
"I'm on first gaurd." I say sitting up, gun in hand and knife in pocket, in the reclining chair. No one seems to argue with that. I sneak a look at Bex, who's already fast asleep.
Then a side glance to Ash. Even though she's asleep, she still has a scowl on her face. No doubt she's still very angry about T and I...
When she rolls over, I avert my eyes over to Trenton. His eyes snap open and I can't help but jump.
"Frighten much are ya'?" He whispers sitting up. "I can't imagine... Lea---"
"Don't you dare say my last name!" I threaten in a whisper.
"Fine.... But I can't imagine you, Lea, being scared. You've always been brave... Sure full with secrets, that's for sure. But you never scared easily. Even when you got your lower arm cut open... Damn that was freaking scary!" His whisper makes me laugh but I keep it in.
"I know... I know... But sometimes you have to be scared..."
"Well what are you scared of?" T raises his eyebrow in curiosity.
"I... Um..." I choke up.
"It's fine you can tell me..."
"Liam... Andrea... I lost them trying to save them... I'm afraid for them... For not seeing them ever again... I can't afford to lose them... If they are..." I gulp and a tear slips from my eye. "I'd just lose it..." Trent gets up and pulls me up, sits down, and holds me in his lap.
"We can find them. I know it. just hold in there, Lea." He whispers in my ears. A chill goes down my spine.
"Okay." I whisper through the tears. My head turns back to look at him. I find myself closing my eyes and leaning in.
We're kissing...
I hear a mumbling and pull away. Ash is sleep mumbling. How cute.
"You go back to sleep, T. I'm watching this shift." I stand up, then he stands up. Trent returns to his spot on the floor by my feet. He snuggles in.
"Night, Aleah." I freeze. No one has called me that... No one but my mother...
"Night Trentey." I say to even it out. He tenses up but falls asleep.
I am going to have a heck of a time trying to make this work with us four....
Maybe I can convince Ash he isn't as bad as she think's he is....
This is going to be hard....
---
"Ready?" I ask hopingin the driver's seat. Trent sits next to me in the front passanger seat while Bex hops in back. Ash walks out and looks at the front seat, sleep slugging in her eyes.
"First he comes to our group, then he kisses you," She says 'kisses' like poison in her mouth that she can't spit out. "Now he takes shot gun? This just keeps getting better!" She throws her bag in the back, slams the trunk and hops in the front seat.
This will be a long ride...
