I pointed towards the brightest star in the sky, as she pointed toward it with me. "Yeah," I said. "That's the North Star. If you ever get lost, just follow that star." Judith babbled and giggled as she played with my hands.
"Hey," Michonne said walking onto the porch. "Hi." I said as I rocked back and forth on the porch swing. "Can I talk to you?" She said approaching me.
"Uh," I said picking up Judith and standing up. "Actually I should go lay her down." I began walking to the door.
"I saw you today," Michonne said. I sighed and turned around. "Outside the wall. What were you doing out there? If your dad knew, you would be in so much trouble, and you know that!"
"Yes, I know!" I said annoyed. "Why didn't you kill her?" Michonne said. "You should've killed her, or let her go."
"I know, I know!" I said.
"Then why didn't you kill her?"
"Because!" I said. " It should be someone who's family, someone who loved her! I'd do it for you." Michonne turned from angry, to understanding.
She slowly approached me and placed a hand on my cheek. She pulled me in for a hug. It felt like whenever my mom hugged me.
I felt safe. Like I wasn't alone in this terrible world.
"I would too." She whispered in my ear.
