I was playing with Judith when I heard a knock on my door. I unlocked the door and opened it. It was Enid. "Hey. What are you doing here?" I asked moving aside as she walked in. "I'm bored." She said. "And Ron is asleep. So I came over to your house." I chuckled.
"I was just playing with Judith but she is getting tired. I'm going to go lay her down." I said as I picked up Judith off of the carpet. "Can I come?" She asked hopefully. I looked at her. "Yeah. Come on."
We walked into Judith's room. I had a bottle in my hand for her. "Do you want to read her a bedtime story?" I asked laying her in her crib. She smiled and nodded. I handed her a book and she started reading it. I stood in the doorway and watched her.

A few minutes later

Enid walked downstairs and sat beside me on the couch. She looked at me. "What is up with you always looking at that picture?" She asked. I stopped looking at the picture and looked at her. "I don't know. It's wierd how the world used to be so happy and bright like in this picture. But now, it is, well, just look outside of the wall." I said. "Even inside of the wa-" we heard a gunshot.
We both looked at the door. "Come on. We need to go see what's going on." I said as I stood up. I grabbed my knife. Me and Enid ran out of the door towards where we heard the gunshot. Everyone was crowded around a fire and I saw blood. Me and Enid ran beside Jessie. My dad was standing there with a gun. Deanna was on the ground next to her husband. He was dead. Pete was under my dad. Dead. With a bullet in his head.
