She snuck out of the wall. AGAIN! One day she's going to get seriously hurt. I couldn't help myself. I had to go. It's just something about this girl that I can't stay away.
When I got over the wall, I couldn't see Enid. What if she got hurt? I walked into the woods a little bit and looked around."Carl." Called Enid. "I know you're following me... again." What? How did she find out? "You knew?"
"You're very loud." She said as I stepped on a branch. "Could you go back? To be honest, you scare me." Did she she just say that? "You shouldn't sneak out by yourself." I said looking around. "Two people just died." Enid stepped out from behind a tree.
"Oh come on." She said. "People will always die. You know that."

Flashback

I sat next to my mom as she spoke to me. "Carl. Baby I don't want you to be scared Okay? This is what I want. This is right. Now, I'm going to need you to take care of your daddy and your little brother or sister alright?" She said as I started to cry. "You don't have to do this." I said letting the tears run off of my face. "You're gonna be fine." She said. "You are gonna beat this world. I know you will. You are smart, you are strong, and you are SO brave. And I love you." She started to cry. "I love you too." I said sadly.
"You gotta do what's right baby. You promise me you'll always do what's right. It's so easy to do the wrong thing in this world." She said. "So if it feels wrong don't do it alright? If it feels wrong don't do it. Don't let the world spoil you." She said as she started to get tears in her eyes.
"You're so good." She said wiping a tear off of my face. "My sweet boy. The best thing I ever did. I love you. I love you." She said as I hugged her one last time. We held the hug for a second but it felt like an hour. She kissed my head twice and I sat up. "Okay. Maggie when this s over you're going to have to-" Maggie stopped mom by shushing her. "You have to do it. It can't be Rick." She said.
I took out my knife and handed it to Maggie. I held my moms hand the last time. Mom took a deep breath. "Goodnight love." She said. "I'm sorry." Maggie said sadly. She sliced her stomach and my mom Screamed. She tightly squeezed my hand and I started bawling. "NO!!!" I Screamed as I continued to cry. "You're killing her!" I said crying. My mom stopped screaming. I looked at her and she was finally in peace. She was gone. The woman who gave birth to me, taught me to walk and talk, taught me to read and write and learn and behave. I would stay alive for her.

I sighed. "We should go back." I said looking at Enid. "Why?" She asked. "What do you do out here anyway?"
"Same thing as you." She said as she started running away. I smiled and ran after her.
