I opened my eyes. I was in a room I've never seen before. "It's about time you woke up." Said a man. "Who's are you?" I asked Looking at him. "I'm Dr. Asberry." He said pointing to his badge. "Would you like me to get your friend.?" He asked. Maggie. Where was she? Is she Okay? "Yes." I said. Dr. Asberry walked out of the door.
A few minutes later, Maggie barged into the room I was in. "Carl?" She asked hopefully. I looked at her. "Thank God you're awake. How are you feeling?" She asked walking to my side. She crouched beside me. "I feel fine. What was wrong with me?" I asked. Maggie pulled the blanket off of me a tad bit more than it was. There was a pad on my lower stomach. "A piece of glass cut your lower torso and it cut open a small part of your kidney." She said. "Blood got into your kidney but Dr.Asberry got it all out."
"So I'm okay?" I asked. "Yeah. You're fine. We need to get back home soon though." She said. "You're going to have to tough it out and get ready to go." I nodded. I slowly sat up which hurt very badly. Maggie stood beside me and held out a hand. I held onto it and then tried to stand. I was very weak on my feet but I stood. I started walking and almost fell but I caught myself on a wall. "You okay?" Maggie asked chuckling. I nodded and stood back up. Maggie left and I got dressed.
I walked outside and Maggie was talking to Dr.Asberry. "Just give him one every 6 hours for the next few days and he'll be fine." He said giving Maggie a bag. "Thank you for everything Doc." Said Maggie. He nodded. "Hey kid." Doc said. "Be sure to take it easy for a few days." He said. I smiled and nodded. Me and Maggie started heading to the exit. "Leaving so soon?" A woman asked from behind us. Maggie's eyes widened. "Who's is it?" I asked Looking at her. We both turned around. I couldn't believe who I was seeing. This had to be my imagination. "Mom?"
