"Carl." Said a voice. I heard a laugh. "Carl!" I moaned and pulled the blanket over my head. "Time to wake up." Someone pulled the blanket out from under me. "Let me sleep. I'm a child that needs sleep." I said. I heard another laugh. "Carl. It's 12 in the afternoon. You need to get up." Said someone who I think was my dad.
I sighed and opened my eyes. "Good morning sleeping Beauty." Said my dad. I looked at him and shook my head. "Why did you take my blanket?" Dad chuckled. "Come on. We're going to look around." I sighed and stood up.
My dad and I walked into the kitchen. Everyone was sitting down eating breakfast. "Hey Carl. It's about time you woke up." Said Maggie handing me a plate of eggs, grits, and pancakes. I was speechless. Maggie laughed. "Are you alright?" I blinked myself back to reality. "Uh. Yeah. Thank you." I said smiling. Maggie patted my back and I sat down next to my dad and Judy. Judith giggled and reached for me. I placed my hand near her and she held my finger. With my other hand I started eating. I looked around and everyone was looking at me. I swallowed my food. "What?" I asked. "Nothing." Said my dad. I looked down and I realized I ate everything on my plate already. I stood up and sat my plate in the dish washer.
I put Judith in her stroller and started walking down the street. A couple of old people called me up to their house. I walked up to them. "Hi. What's your name?" Asked the woman. "I'm Carl and this is Judith." I picked up Judith and walked up their steps. "Well hello Carl and Judith. I'm Mrs.Miller and this is my husband Mr. Miller. May I hold her?" Asked Mrs. Miller. I nodded and handed Judy to her. Judy started to cry. "I guess she doesn't like me as much as her brother." Said mrs. Miller as she handed me Judith. "It's fine. She doesn't even like anybody in my grou-" I stopped. "Doesn't even like anyone in my family." I looked up and saw my dad and a woman outside of their house talking. My dad began walking up to me and Judy when she said something and he nodded.
"Carl. Come here." Dad Yelled. "I'm sorry I have to go." I said. "It was nice meeting you two." They smiled. "It was nice meeting you two also Carl. Goodbye."
I walked up to my dad and the woman. "Carl, this is Jessie Anderson. She has a son that is about your age." Said my dad. "Why don't you go with Jessie and meet him?" I thought of before. I had one friend named Max, he didn't make it. We used to sneak out and tide our bikes around the neighborhood at night. "Yeah. That sounds fun!"
