"Jagi, can we go to my favorite barbeque place for dinner tonight?" Jungkook asked as the two of you were in the hallway that led to the dance practice room.

"I can't. I'm busy tonight. Can we try a different night?" You asked as you were told to lie to the maknae so that you wouldn't ruin the birthday surprise.

"U-Um, today's pretty special though." Jungkook nervously chuckled as he scratched the back of his neck while giving you a small smile.

"Did you guys win another award?" Jungkook shook his head as you pretended to think of another reason why it would be special.

The male let out a disappointed sigh before running a hand through his hair.

"Ani, did you really forget?" Jungkook asked with his voice becoming shaky as you furrowed your eyebrows, with your heart shattering into pieces from lying to your boyfriend.

You watched as Jungkook slowly nodded his head before walking away from you, causing your heart to drop to your stomach as you watched Jungkook's figure disappear.

Now that the sad male was gone, Min Cha quickly grabbed you by the hand and gave you an outfit along with the address on where you could help with the surprise birthday. Even though you were going to see Jungkook in a few hours, something was telling you that things might not go according to plan.

"Yah, shouldn't Jungkookie be here by now?" Da Eun asked as your head perked up from hearing Jungkook's name.

"Yeah, it's almost 9." Jin said as you frowned a little before excusing yourself so that you could call him.

You walked outside of the dorm so that you wouldn't feel more anxious than you already were. The weather changed drastically due to it now marking the first day of autumn.

"Kookie, where are you?" You asked as you heard light sniffles on the other side of the phone.

"Why do you care? You completely forgot what today is." Jungkook answered as you ran a hand through your hair as you tried your best not to tell him that it was all an act.

"Oppa, please tell me where you are." You spoke as the male sighed before telling you where he was.

You hurriedly walked out of the building and made your way to the place. Many thoughts were going through your head as you kept beating yourself up for agreeing to surprise the maknae on his birthday.

When you finally made it to the small park, you saw a figure with a hood on sitting on the swings by himself. Quietly making your way, you realized that you were most likely going to cry for not telling Jungkook.

"Jungkookie...let's go back." You said as you stared at his slouched figure with his head hanging low and his hands in the hoodie's pocket.

"Do you know what today is?" Jungkook asked as he looked up to you, thankful for the moon is bright enough to see the male's puffy eyes.

"Pabo. Of course, I know what today is, it's your birthday." You said with a smile as you saw Jungkook's eyes widen before noticing that he was a little irritated.

"Then why did you tell me earlier that you didn't know what it is?" He then asked as you puffed your cheeks with air as you tilted your head to the side to think.

"Promise to act surprised when you see it in person though." You answered as you held up your pinky.

Once the two of you made the promise, Jungkook took your hand and began to rub it with his thumb as it went over your knuckles.

"We were planning to throw a surprise for you, but it kind of failed." You said with an awkward chuckle following behind.

Jungkook stopped from what he was doing and let out a frustrated sigh before getting up from the swing and putting his arm out for you.

"Are we going back?" You asked as the other shook his head as you could already tell that he had a smirk on his face.

"Nope! We're going to go eat my favorite place." Jungkook spoke as he linked his hand with yours while letting out a small hum of melodies.

The sound of just Jungkook singing a small melody as the two of you walked down the empty sidewalks, was perfect. There was nothing to distract you from taking in the very moment that you were having with Jungkook.

"Jin-sunbae is going to mad that we're eating here and not his dishes." You said with a smile as he nodded his head while laughing a bit before turning the meat over.

"But I would rather spend my birthday with just the two of us." Jungkook said as he gave you wink before handing you meat.

The two of you talked and laughed over Jungkook's dinner meat before taking a picture for the owner. Once that was done, you guys were finally on the way back to the dorm.

"Sorry for making you mad." You mumbled as you looked down at your hand being held by Jungkook's warm hand.

"I knew you couldn't forget...I guess I was just shocked when you did say that you forgot about it." Jungkook said as you nodded your head slowly before being pulled out of staring into space as you saw the male looking at you with eyes full of passion.

"Wh-What's wrong?" You stammered as Jungkook moved closer to you before lifting your chin up and looking into your eyes.

"You know what would be the perfect birthday gift from you?" Jungkook asked with more of a low and husky voice than usual.

"Hm? Would it be a new pair of Timberlands?" You jokingly asked as he let out a small chuckle before shaking his head and connecting his lips with yours.

Right when he kissed you, it left fireworks in your stomachs as it felt like time paused just for this moment. Being caught off guard for a bit, you finally got the message that you were just kissed by your boyfriend as you then kissed back. Feeling Jungkook pull a small smile on his lips, he let go and pulled you into a hug with his arms tightly wrapped around your wrist and his head on the crook of your neck.

"Thank you for loving me (Y/N)." Jungkook murmured as he left kisses on your neck.

"You're welcome but do you not want the new Timberlands?" You asked as he shook his head before biting down on a certain part of your neck causing you to let a small moan escape from your mouth,

"Nope. You're definitely better than Timberlands. Let's go home so I can finish getting my birthday gift."
