THIRD PERSON POV

Bakugo clutched the ends of the shock blanket that Recovery Girl had covered his shoulders with. What he saw...what he witnessed...

"Deku..." He growled roughly.

It was fake...all of it was...

As Bakugo violently raked his fingers through his spiky hair, he heard a voice behind him. Jerking his head around, he realized it was Ochaco Uraraka...

She, too, was wearing a blanket around her shoulders. Her once-cheerful face was now pale. Her bobbed hair was a tousled mess. Her eyes...her eyes were red and had a dead stare in them...Bakugo's heart was pricked as if it hurt him to see her this way. He turned away just as fast he looked. She settled next to him and stared at the ground.

"What do you want?" Bakugo grunted, avoiding eye contact. Uraraka hesitated before replying.

"I'm sorry for letting go..."

"Are you serious?" Bakugo couldn't believe what he was hearing. "That is so like you to say that. You're always so worried about other people when you should be worried about yourself, especially after your brain just got sucked. It's so annoying. Besides, it's not like you could help letting go...you got hit pretty hard."

"I'm sorry..." was all Uraraka said.

Bakugo furiously rubbed his head and gritted his teeth.

Get it through your thick skull.

"Look," he huffed. "I'm serious when I say you need to look after yourself. It's a big flaw if you don't."

"Yeah, I know." Uraraka sighed, and began fiddling her thumbs. "Can I ask...what you saw..."

"What are you talking about now?"

"The...simulation."

His heart stopped and his body froze. Uraraka tensed up. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked. It's just..." She gulped. "I saw my greatest fear...my father and mother were in poverty and then...I blinked and suddenly I was standing in a grave yard in front of a tombstone....It was my father's..." Bakugo noticed a single tear drop from her eye.

Shit...what do I do? Do I...

Bakugo slapped his hand on Uraraka's head. At first, Uraraka complained, but then heard Bakugo's shockingly calming voice. "I'm sorry. It was my fault that you got caught. If I had been stronger, I could've stop...no, wait." He laughed at himself as he slammed his other hand on his forehead. "I'm so self-centered for my own good. Man, I suck."

"That's not true." Uraraka said. "You are strong. One of the strongest in our entire class! I wish I was as strong as you."

"Don't worry. You are."

Uraraka's big brown eyes widened. Bakugo removed his hand from the top of her head and sighed. "You're not fragile like they think you are. You have just enough potential as Deku." He stopped when he mentioned that name.

"Bakugo?..."

"My greatest fear..." Bakugo breathed. "is losing everyone I care about. My classmates... To be alone."

"That will never happen, Bakugo." Uraraka touched his arm. "We will always be together. As a class. As a team. As a family...Don't worry; everything is going to be okay."

"Yeah, yeah, I know." Bakugo felt the tip of his ears burn. "I know it'll never happen..." He seemed to wake up and moved his arm from her fingers. "I don't care either."

Instead of feeling hurt, Uraraka smiled. She hadn't smile since that morning at the beginning of the U.A Summer Festival. "Thank you, Bakugo."

Bakugo looked at her, confused. "For what?"

Uraraka only smiled and rose to her feet. "Just...thank you." She began to walk away, tucking her blanket around her shoulders. Bakugo jumped up and grabbed her arm. "Why are you thanking me? Tell me."

"I'm thanking you for thinking of us. Class 1-A." she said, patting his hand on her arm. "To think, I could be cared for by you. But of course...there is one person in our class who is a litte more special...right?"

Heat rose all through Bakugo's face. Uraraka just continued to smile as she squeezed his hand and then walked away, suddenly feeling something in her heart.

Bakugo watched her go and sighed. "Thanks, Ochaco. Really. Thank you."
