The group was sat in a circle desperately trying to figure out a plan.

'You call that "figured it out"?' Rocket said, 'We're gonna rob the guys who just beat us senseless!' 'Oh you wanna talk about senseless?' Peter replied, 'How about trying to save us - by blowing us up?' 'Blame the Doctor!' Rocket said, 'It was his idea to come save you!' 'Excuse me Rocket,' the Doctor replied. 'I did tell you to come with the Milano, but I specifically told you not to do anything stupid!' 'We were only gonna blow you up if they didn't turn you over!' Rocket replied. 'And how on Earth were they gonna turn us over when you only gave them a count of five?' Peter said. 'We didn't have enough time to work out the minutiae of the plan!' Rocket said, 'This is what we get for acting altruistically.' 'I am Groot.' Groot said. 'They are ungrateful.' 'Yeah, the reason that they are ungrateful,' the Doctor said, 'was because you tried to get them to turn you over - by blowing them all up!' 'Doctor, sometimes you need to control yourself though,' Peter replied. 'He could have killed you earlier!' 'I know,' the Doctor replied, 'I was fully aware. I wasn't thinking of myself then. I was thinking of your safety.' 'Well, thanks,' Peter said, 'but be careful next time,' 'Sure,' the Doctor replied.
'What's important now,' Gamora said, 'is we get the Ravagers' army to help us save Xandar.' 'So we can give the stone to Yondu,' Rocket said, 'who's just gonna sell it to somebody even worse?' 'We'll figure out that part later.' Peter replied. 'We have to stop Ronan,' Gamora said. 'How?' Rocket asked.
'I have a plan,' Peter said. 'You've got a plan?' Rocket replied. 'Yes.' Peter said. 'First of all, you're copying me from when I said I had a plan,' Rocket said. 'No I'm not!' Peter replied. 'People say that all the time, it's not that unique of a thing to say!' 'Secondly, I don't even believe you have a plan,' Rocket said. 'I have part of a plan!' Peter said. 'What percentage of a plan do you have?' Drax asked. 'You don't get to ask questions after the nonsense you pulled on Knowhere,' Gamora snapped. 'I just saved Quill!' Drax replied. 'First of all,' Peter began, 'the Doctor did a lot more to save me than the three of you did! All that you did was try to blow them up, and we've already established that blowing up the ship that I am on is definitely not saving me!' 'When did we establish that?' Drax asked. 'Like three seconds ago!' Peter snapped. 'I wasn't listening, I was thinking of something else.' Gamora sighed. 'She's right, you don't get an opinion,' Rocket said, 'What percentage?' 'I don't know,' Peter said, 'about 12 percent.' '12 percent?' Rocket snorted before bursting into laughter. 'That's a fake laugh,' Peter said. 'It's real,' Rocket replied. 'Totally fake,' Peter replied. 'That is the most real, authentic, hysterical laugh of my entire life,' Rocket said, 'because that is not a plan!' 'It's barely a concept.' Gamora said. 'You're taking their side?!' Peter replied. 'I am Groot,' Groot said. 'So what if it's better than 11 percent?' Rocket asked. 'What the hell does that have to do with anything?' 'I'm agreeing with Groot on this one,' the Doctor said, 'because it's better than not having a plan at all. I mean, what kind of planning process went  into your head when you were going to save him - by blowing him up, eh?' 'Thank you, Groot, thank you, Doctor,' Peter said, 'but can we concentrate on the plan, and not on that from now on please?' 'Alright then.' the Doctor replied. 'See?' Peter said, 'Groot and the Doctor are the only ones in here who have a clue.' But then Peter saw Groot chewing a twig on his left arm, and sighed, putting his head in his hand. Rocket scoffed. 'Guys, come on,' Peter said, 'Yondu is going to be here in two seconds, and he expects to hear this big plan of ours. I need your help. I look around at us, and do you know what I see? Losers. I mean, like, folks who have lost stuff. And we have, man we have. All of us. Our homes.' He looked at Gamora. 'Our families.' He looked at Drax. 'Our friends.' He looked at the Doctor. 'Normal lives,' he continued. 'Usually life takes more than it gives, but not today. Today it's given us something. It has given us a chance.' 'To do what?' Drax asked. 'To give a shit,' Peter replied. 'For once, not run away. I, for one, am not gonna stand by and watch as Ronan wipes out billions of innocent lives.' 'But Quill,' Rocket said despairingly, 'stopping Ronan, it's impossible. You're asking us to die.' Peter paused for a moment and sighed.
Yeah, I guess I am.' he said.

As Peter walked away the Doctor noticed something that broke his heart. Peter knocked on the wall four times, with the tip of his fingers. He decided to say nothing, as he knew his song was ending soon, and he felt more worried  than everyone else. 'Quill,' Gamora said. Peter turned around. 'I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies,' she continued. 'I will be grateful to die among my friends.' As she said this, she stood up. Then Drax stood up. 'You are an honourable man, Quill,' he said, 'I will fight beside you, and in the end, I'll see my wife and daughter again.' Then the Doctor stood up. 'A couple of months ago, someone told me my song is ending soon,' he said, 'maybe this is it. But I will be satisfied if it ends with saving the lives of many innocent people, and surrounded by the ones I care about.' Then Groot stood up, 'I am Groot,' he said. Then they all stared at Rocket, who was yet to stand. So Rocket sighed. 'Oh, what the hell,' he said, 'I don't get that long a lifespan anyway.' He then finally stood up. 'Now I'm standing, y'all happy?' he said. 'We're all standing up now. Bunch of jackasses standing in a circle.' The rest of the group smiled in amusement at this statement.

Then Yondu arrived, and screens were brought up to explain the plan. 'The stone reacts to anything organic.' Gamora said, 'the bigger the target, the bigger the power surge,' 'All Ronan's got to do is touch the stone to the surface and zap,' Peter said. 'All plants, animals, Nova Corps,' 'Everything will die.' Gamora added. 'So Ronan does not make the surface,' the Doctor added. 'First, I will take my TARDIS and materialise it in front of Ronan, and hopefully talk him out of this,' the Doctor said. 'If I can't, which is very likely, I will leave, and that is your cue to attack. Peter?' 'So Rocket will then lead a team to blow a hole in the Dark Aster's starboard hull.' Peter said, 'then our craft and Yondu's will enter, and hopefully meet up with the Doctor, who will be waiting there for us with his TARDIS.' 'Won't there be hundreds of Sakaaran soldiers inside?' Kraglin asked. 'I think of Sakaarans as paper people,' Drax replied. Kraglin bumped him on the shoulder, but drew away when he saw Drax's threatening gaze fixated upon him. 'Once they know we're on board,' Gamora said, 'Roman will isolate himself behind impenetrable security doors on deck, which me and the Doctor will disable by dismantling the power source.' 'We'll make it to the flight deck,' Peter said, 'and I'll use the Hadron Enforcer to kill Ronan.' 'Once Ronan is dead,' Gamora said, 'we will retrieve the Stone. Use these devices to contain it, as if you touch it, it will kill you.' As she said this, one of the Ravagers was handing out spherical devices. 'I'll contact one of the Nova officers who arrested us, and hopefully they'll believe we're there to help.' 'There's one more thing we need to complete the plan,' Rocket added, 'that guy's eye.' He pointed at a Ravager with a cybernetic eye. 'No! No we don't.' Peter replied. 'We don't need that guy's eye.'
'No seriously, I need it!' Rocket replied, 'It's important to me.' He giggled.

An automated voice announced that 'Ronan's fleet has been spotted. Arriving in T-minus 15 minutes.' Then Yondu came across Peter and the Doctor. 'Remember boy,' he said, 'at the end of all this, I get the stone. Cross me, and we kill you all.' 'Come on, Peter,' the Doctor said, 'let's go,' before they headed to each of their respective ships.
As the Doctor entered the TARDIS, all the Ravagers were cheering. He gave them a smile before waving goodbye to Peter and the others, and then dematerialising the TARDIS, trying to get to Ronan.
