'Let's go get 'em boys!' Yondu said as the fleet of Ravager ships, including the Milano, left their mothership and followed the TARDIS to the Dark Aster. 'This is a terrible plan,' Gamora said. 'Hey, you're the one who said they wanted to die among friends!' Peter replied. 'You nearly there, Doctor?'
'Yes I am,' the Doctor said over the intercom. 'I will take the TARDIS to the starboard hull and I will meet you there.' He switched off the intercom and steered the TARDIS to the flight deck.

Meanwhile on Xandar, the Nova Corps had noticed the fleet of Ravagers, the Dark Aster and the TARDIS approaching. Rhomann Dey had received Peter's message, and headed to Nova Prime to relay it. 'Nova Prime,' he began, 'I received a transmission from one of the Ravagers. He says Ronan's in possession of something called an Infinity Stone and he's headed towards Xandar.' 'Good God,' Nova Prime replied. 'It's a trick,' Denarian Saal replied, 'he's a criminal.'
'Did he say why we should believe him?' Nova Prime asked. 'He said his crew just escaped from prison,' Rhomann said, 'so he'd have no other reason to risk coming to Xandar to help apart from another reason. He says that he's an a-hole, but he's not, and I am quoting him here, 100% a dick.' 'What was the other reason he's here?' Nova Prime asked. 'Just look,' Rhomann replied. Then they looked at the display they had of all the Ravager ships - and noticed the blue box among them. 'The Doctor,' Nova Prime said, 'The last of the Time Lords. If he believes them, then we should also. Do you believe him?'
'I don't really believe that anyone's 100% a dick-' Rhomann began. 'I mean do you believe he's here to help?' Nova Prime asked. 'Well, if the Doctor believes him,' Rhomann began, 'then yeah.'

The Dark Aster began approaching Xandar, with Roman at the flight deck, but just as he reached the atmosphere, he heard a strange whirring noise, which was then followed by the gradual appearance of a blue police box. The Doctor then took a deep breath, and left the TARDIS. 'Hello, Ronan,' he said. 'Doctor,' Ronan replied. 'So, I hear that you have the Power Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones, and you're going to use it to wipe out Xandar. Why would you wipe out a whole planet exactly.'
'Xandarian culture is diseased,' Roman replied, 'I will cure Xandar, and begin a new age for my people the Kree,'
'And is your attempted curing of Xandar the destruction of all its civilisation?' the Doctor asked. 'Is that what your new empire is going to be? Killing everyone that isn't in your image, and putting your kind of people there instead?' He turned to Nebula. 'Oh, Nebula, Nebula, Nebula,' he said. 'I am so sorry about what Thanos has done to you and your sister.' 'You have no idea what he has done to me, apart from what you can see.' Nebula replied. 'Yes, but is supporting another raving, evil tyrant going to help that, eh?' the Doctor asked. 'After I destroy Xandar,' Ronan said, 'I will kill Thanos for her.' 'Oh, I've met Thanos before. Long time ago, it was. In the Last Great Time War. Aiding the Daleks. You think that you have a chance against him, you're mistaken. In fact, you won't even have a chance now. Withdraw from Xandar, or face the consequences.'
'There will be no negative consequence,' Ronan replied, 'only the purging of Xandarian and Terran culture.' A shocked look grew on the Doctor's face. 'What?' he said. 'Terra is next after Xandar,' Ronan said, 'another diseased planet.'
'You may have fought a war against the Nova Empire,' the Doctor said, 'but Earth has done nothing to the Kree! You had one chance Ronan. Now prepare for your downfall.' He entered the TARDIS. 'Stop him!' Ronan ordered, but it was too late for him. The TARDIS had already dematerialised. Nebula then saw the approaching fleet.
'A fleet approaches,' she warned Ronan, 'they appear to be Ravagers,'

Meanwhile, in the Ravager fleet, the Milano was among the ships heading towards the Dark Aster. The Doctor then called Peter on the intercom. 'So Doctor how'd it go?' he said. 'I couldn't convince him,' the Doctor replied. 'so you have full authorisation to attack. I'm going to travel a few minutes into the future, and I'll meet you on the Dark Aster. I'll see you there.' The Doctor then turned off the intercom. 'Fire!' Yondu said, as two large ships shot fireballs at the Dark Aster, which covered the Dark Aster so they couldn't be seen. 'Cover down! Submerge!' Yondu said, as the fleet of ships then dived beneath the Dark Aster. 'Rocket, hurry!' Peter said, as Rocket flew his ship towards the starboard hull, to shoot a hole in it. 'All pilots dive!' Nebula said, 'They're beneath us!' Necrocraft swarmed out of the Dark Aster, attacking all the Ravager ships.

Meanwhile, on the ground, Nova Prime had noticed the huge, looming shape of the Dark Aster above the city. 'Evacuate the city,' she ordered. 'Our priority is to get our people away from the battle!'
The battle raged on. 'Forward thrust now!' Nebula ordered, and the Dark Aster then began its push forward towards Xandar. Meanwhile, Rocket had managed to blow the hole in the Dark Aster's starboard hull. 'Quill! Yondu! Now!' he yelled, which prompted Quill and Yondu to approach the starboard hull, shooting and dodging in and out of the way of Necrocraft. But Yondu was hit - and soon he was crashing!
'Aw hell!' he shouted. 'I'm going down, Quill! No more games with me boy! I'll see you at the end of this!'
Even the Milano was struggling to make it through the fleet of Necrocraft. 'There are too many of them, Rocket!' Gamora said, 'We'll never make it up there!' But miraculously, and out of the blue, a fleet of Nova Corps ships appeared to assist the Ravager fleet, led by Denarian Saal. 'Peter Quill, this is Denarian Saal of the Nova Corps,' he said, 'for the record, I advised against trusting you here.' 'They got my "dick" message!' Peter said. 'Prove me wrong,' Saal replied. And on that, the Milano made its rapid approach towards the starboard hull, eventually crash landing inside it, bumping about a bit. 'Yes!' Drax yelled and laughed, clearly enjoying it. Then Peter noticed the large army of Sakaarans approaching, and with the onboard weapons, mostly shot them dead as the Milano, now tattered, swerved to a stop. 'Yes!' Drax cheered, as Peter and Gamora breathed in relief. 'We're just like Kevin Bacon,' Gamora said. 'I guess,' Peter replied. Then they got out of the Milano, and they heard the familiar whirring noise, and the TARDIS materialised. The Doctor opened the door. 'You made it!' he said happily. 'And so did you!' Peter replied, and they hugged. 'Alright then, allons-y!' the Doctor said, as they prepared to approach the flight deck.
