The Doctor had just emerged from being sprayed with some unknown orange liquid substance, and was about to get changed into his prison uniform. 'Ow,' the Doctor said, 'they sprayed me with whatever that was pretty hard, it hurt me a little bit.' In his prison uniform he sat and waited for his friends to enter. Then suddenly Peter was forcibly brought in by Nova Corps officers, and the Doctor could see his anger building up again. But when he tried to escape, sentry bots surrounded him and he had no choice to sit down. The Doctor then put his arm around Peter's shoulder. 'Are you OK, Peter?' he said. 'Not really,' Peter said, 'that shit they sprayed me with hurts.' 'Well, maybe we could persuade Rocket to get us out of here!' the Doctor said. 'That's actually not a bad idea,' Peter said.

Then Rocket burst in. 'Oh, talk of the devil...' the Doctor muttered. Then Rocket turned around, and the Doctor and Peter could clearly see that there were cybernetic implants in the raccoon's back. 'Oh, maybe there is nothing like him, then...' the Doctor mattered. Rocket turned back around. 'What did you just say?' he asked. 'Nothing,' the Doctor responded. Then Gamora, and finally Groot entered, and so the five friends took their belongings and headed to their cells. The central cafeteria of the prison was surrounded by many floors of cells, which seemed to extend as high as the eye could see. Prisoners were sat at their tables, in fact one was looking at a hologram of their family, and tearing up. The Doctor saw this and instantly pitied them. In fact this prison had all types of galactic prisoners from many different species. 'This place is huge...' the Doctor said. 'There aren't many prisons like that on Earth.' Then something hit Quill's head, and he and the Doctor looked up to notice a very angry group of prisoners, shouting nasty comments about Gamora and threatening her life. 'Oh dear,' the Doctor said. 'Like I said, she's got a rep,' Rocket began. 'A lot of prisoners here have lost their families to Ronan and his goons. She'll last a day, tops.'
'MURDERER!', one of the prisoners shouted. 'The guards will protect her right?' Quill asked.
'They're here to stop us from getting out,' Rocket said, 'they don't care what we do to each other inside.' 'Well, maybe this prison could definitely improve their standards,' the Doctor said, 'because this is life and limb they are dealing with.'
'Whatever nightmares the future holds are dreams compared to what's behind me.' Gamora said darkly. 'You could say the same for me to be honest,' the Doctor replied.
Then Peter turned around and discovered a huge blue alien, who began threateningly stroking his face. 'Check out the new meat,' he said. 'Leave him alone, he did nothing to you!', the Doctor shouted.
The alien wouldn't listen. 'I'm gonna slather you up in Gunavian jelly, and go to town-' he said before Groot suddenly stuck his branches into his nostrils and forcibly held him up. 'Let's make something clear!', Rocket began, 'This one here is our booty! You wanna get to him, you go through us! Or more accurately, WE GO THROUGH YOU!' The alien's nose broke, before Groot finally let go. Everyone stared at Quill and the Doctor. 'I'm with them,' Quill said. The Doctor then paused a moment. 'And me,' he said before following Quill. 'Nice one, you two.', the Doctor said to Rocket and Groot as they walked to their cells.
The Doctor noticed that as Gamora walked to hers, she was still being threatened. 'No cell's going to protect you for long!', one inmate yelled, as the angry mob followed her to her cell, and surrounded it even after she was sealed inside. 'You're dead! Dead!' another inmate shouted. And shortly afterwards he noticed another inmate threateningly staring up at Gamora's cell. He was big, muscly and his skin was a grey/blue colour. He was covered in red tattoos, and his sharp gazing blue eyes stared with nothing but hatred at Gamora's cell. The Doctor then headed to his own cell, which he shared with many other inmates, including Quill, Rocket and Groot, and prepared to rest for the night.

The Doctor and Peter could hardly sleep, despite everyone else around them being able to. Then they heard a voice. It was a prison guard. 'Take her down to the showers. It'll be easier to clean up the blood down there.' Then they heard a scream, and a couple grunts. Then to their horror they saw Gamora being led down the corridor, held at knifepoint. Quill then stood up, and snuck behind them to see what was going on. 'Peter, come back!', the Doctor whispered. Then Rocket woke up. 'Quill, where you going?', he said, as he woke up. 'Gamora is about to get killed, and he has stupidly decided to follow her!' the Doctor whispered.
'Quill!' Rocket whispered. 'Rocket, follow me quickly, we need to stop him.', the Doctor said. 'He's going to get badly hurt!'
'It's really dark down there,' Rocket said. 'Have you got some sort of flashlight?'
'I have this,' the Doctor said. 'My sonic screwdriver. They let me keep it, because they don't know what it can do!'
Rocket sniggered a little bit. 'Come on, we gotta help him!'
They wandered down the corridor a bit before finding Quill. 'Quill!' Rocket said. 'We're so glad you're OK.' Peter looked down and saw the Doctor's sonic screwdriver. 'How come they let you keep that?' Peter asked. 'I just told them it was a torch!' the Doctor said. 'Now let's find out what's going on. And trust me, you're safe when I'm around. Allons-y!'
They wandered further through the prison before they came across the showers - and Gamora being held up at knifepoint.
For the first time, the Doctor could actually see fear in Gamora's eyes.
'Gamora,' one inmate snapped, 'consider this a death sentence, for your crimes against the galaxy!'
'You dare!' another voice shouted. And out of the door on the other side, was the inmate the Doctor had seen earlier. All the prisoners surrounding Gamora seemed to shudder in fear.
'You know who I am, yes?', he said. 'You're Drax, the Destroyer!', the inmate whimpered.
'And you know why they call me this?' Drax asked.
'You slayed dozens of Ronan's minions.', the prisoner stuttered in fear.
'Ronan murdered my wife, Ovette, and my daughter, Camaria,' Drax explained. 'He slaughtered them where they stood, and he LAUGHED!'
'Oh dear,' the Doctor said. 'Quill? Doctor?' Rocket said. 'This might not be a good idea!'
'Her life is not yours to take,' Drax said. 'he killed my family, so I shall kill one of his in return.'
The inmate gave Drax the knife. 'Of course, Drax, here I-' But before he could finish, Gamora killed two of the inmates he was conspiring with - and had soon turned the tables.
'Quill! Doctor! What are you both doing?' Rocket said.
'Shut up!' the Doctor whispered back.
'I am no family to Ronan or Thanos.', Gamora said, pulling the knives away from their throats and dropping them. 'I'm your only hope at stopping him.' she said. But Drax wouldn't listen. Soon he was grabbing Gamora by the throats and holding her up against the wall.
'Woman, your words mean nothing to me!' he yelled.
'Hey! Hey, hey, hey! Hey!' Quill said attempting to stop Drax. 'Oh crap,' Rocket moaned. 'Peter get back here!' the Doctor said.
'You know, if killing Ronan is truly your sole purpose,' Quill said, 'I don't think this is the best way to go about it.'
'Are you not the men this wench attempted to kill?' Drax said. 'Well, I mean, she's hardly the first woman to try to do that to me.' 'Or me in fact,' the Doctor said. He then began to show his wounds to Drax. 'Look this is from a smoking hot Rajak girl, who stabbed me with a fork. Didn't like me skipping out on her at sunrise. Over here, a Kree girl tried to rip out my thorax, because she caught me with this skinny little A'askavariian who worked in Nova Records. I was trying to get information.  You ever seen an A'askavariian? They have tentacles, and needles for teeth. But if you think I am interested in that then - Oh, you don't care. But here's the point-' Peter paused for a moment. 'She betrayed Ronan. He's coming back for her. And when he does, that's when you...'
He put his finger across his throat to mimic killing.
'Why would I put his finger on his throat?' Drax asked. 'Oh no he doesn't mean that,' the Doctor said.
'That's a symbol, for you slicing his throat.' Peter continued. 'I would not slice his throat, Drax said. 'I would cut his head clean off.'
'It's a general expression for you killing somebody, you've heard of this right, Doctor?' Peter asked. 'Yes I have,' the Doctor replied. 'And you other there?' Peter asked. 'Yeah,' the inmate replied. 'Everyone knows. But what I'm saying here is keep her alive, and don't do his work for him.' Peter explained.
Gamora stared at Peter and the Doctor in total despair. There was a moment of silence, before Drax let her go. 'Good one there, Peter,' the Doctor said.
'Thanks.' Quill replied.
Drax looked at the knife he had picked up. 'I like your knife. I'm keeping it.' he said. 'That was my favourite knife.' the inmate whined.
'Listen, I couldn't care less about whether you live or die.' Peter said. 'Then why stop the big guy?' Gamora asked. 'Simple. You know where to sell my Orb.' Peter replied.
'How are we gonna sell it when we and it are still here?' Gamora asked.
'My friend Rocket here has escaped 22 prisons.' Peter said. 'Oh we're getting out,' Rocket chimed in. 'And then we're headed straight to Yondu to deliver your bounty.'
'No one is being brought to their bounty here today.' the Doctor said.
'How much was your buyer willing to pay you for my Orb?' Quill asked. '4 billion units.' Gamora replied. The three friends were shocked by how much they could get paid. 'Holy shit!' Quill said.
'That orb is my opportunity to get away from Thanos and Ronan.' Gamora began, 'If you free us, I'll lead you to the buyer directly and I'll split the profit between the four of us.'
'I am Groot.' Groot said, suddenly chiming in. 'Five of us,' Rocket said. 'Asleep for the danger, awake for the money as per frickin' usual.'
'That must be annoying.' the Doctor said.
