Me last week: I'll release a new chapter soon
it's been a week orz. Here's an update, finally. Btw..THANK YOU FOR 800 READS?! LAST TIME I CHECKED I HAD 600 ;;; what evennnn. Anywho, we're getting to some of the juicy stuff. ٩( )و I've already planned ahead a little cuz I accidentally started writing a bit of it while writing the last chapter, and that's what gave me the idea for the little complication which is going to arise shortly..

I slipped on my uniform, just glad the weekend was over. It was filled with boredom and testing out new outfits for my fathers fashion company. Before I left the house, father tapped my shoulder.

"Here's your phone. Your ungrounded earlier than I had planned," he grumbled, handing it to me. "I'll also be going on another business trip this week."

"Thanks, and enjoy the trip," I replied, before walking out of the door.

As I entered the gates, I noticed Laurence and Garroth waiting for me.

"Whew, thank god you're here! I thought something happened to you, because you weren't replying to my texts.." Laurence sighed.

"Oh, I'm fi-" I suddenly realised what he'd said, and now I had something more important to ask than answering his question.

"How'd you get my number...?"

"I may of taken your phone while you weren't looking last week and took it," he grinned mischievously.

"You know what...I'm not even surprised," I sighed.

"Anyways, I'm guessing you got your phone taken off of ya, since you didn't reply?" He asked. I nodded.

"Yup..I guess I can't hang out anymore," I shrugged.

"You shouldn't let your father tell you what to do! Even I sometimes have to rebel against my own dad to get what I want," Garroth chimed in.

"Yeah!" Laurence agreed.

"Well, your father isn't strict. And I know for a fact your mother certainly isn't either,"

"You make it sound like you know Garroth's mother, haha," Laurence chuckled.

"That's because I do," I stated. "Before you ask, his parents and my parents are friends."

"Ohhhhhh..woah, are Y/N's parents rich too or something?!" Laurence asked, shocked.

"Ye- I mean nahhhh. Nope. Not at all," Garroth lied.

"Yeah, they're just a normal family, haaah..." I lied.

"Okay...-"

Before Laurence could continue, the bell rang, which meant classes began. The two boys offered to walk me to homeroom, I couldn't really object though because it was rude. The only reason I didn't want them walking me was because if Garroth came, Ivy might see us.

It was lunch, and us three all sat in the usual spot.

"I brought apple juices for everyone! Huehue," Garroth smiled, handing everyone an apple juice.

"Aw thanks," I smiled.

"EEHH?! You smiled for once!" Laurence grinned.

"I guess I did," I replied, taking the straw out of the wrapper. I usually don't smile because I don't find anything interesting, and I'm bad at interacting with people. Maybe I'm becoming more social, and finally showing more emotions than usual?

Aphmau ran up from behind Garroth, placing her hands on his shoulders. I noticed Laurence flinch slightly. Was he jealous? I'm not sure..maybe.

Aphmau panted. "Haa..gosh, wait. Lemme catch my voice," she sighed.

"What's wrong?" Garroth asked worriedly.

I noticed the tint of pink on his cheek, and though it was faint, it was noticeable from where I was sitting.

From what I've read in books, blushing means a few things, and the only one that makes sense is that Garroth also likes Aphmau..? I might just be jumping to conclusions though.

"Gene is trying to get me into his team again, and I seriously need to hide," she gulped.

""Hide behind me?" Laurence offered.

"Maybe get under the table?" Garroth asked.

Aphmau followed Garroth's advice, and I noticed how much that seemed to affect Laurence.

"I'm going to tell Gene off," Laurence stood up.

"I don't think that's a good idea, especially since they bashed you, and I don't want you getting hurt," Garroth stood up to stop Laurence.

"I should handle this, they'll take it easier on me-"

"No, I'll deal with them. You've never faced them before, while I have," Laurence pushed Garroth out of the way.

"I got this," I stood up and rushed over to Laurence.

"Laurence wait, I think Garroth is right, you shouldn't do this," I tugged on his arm, spinning him around to face me.

"I know Garroth is right," he averted his eyes to the ground.

"Then why...?" I asked.

"How else am I going to impress Aphmau, huh? I can't just stand there and watch Gene hurt Aphmau. That whole time at the table, Aphmau was talking to Garroth. Taking his side. Everything! I can't let him win-"

"You're doing this all because Aphmau seemed to take an interest in Garroth? That doesn't mean she likes him more. It might seem like that, but you don't know what's going on in her head. She might just be nervous to talk to you, which means she might like you," I finished.

Laurence stayed silent, unsure of what to do.

MUAHAHAHAHA CLIFF HANGERRRR!!
