I put on my F/C overcoat. There was a strong breeze tonight and it was quite chilly outside. Similarly to last time, my parents would check on me at 9:30pm, but I doubt I'll take that long for a simple visit at Laurence's house— or at least I think I'm meeting up at him at his house..he never actually specified?
I pulled out my phone to call him, but of course it had to run out of battery at that exact moment.
I was already at his door, well at least I think it was his house? I only know where he lives since that incident with Gene from a few months ago.
I knocked on the door, and I was greet by a pretty petite women, who flashed me a warm smile. She had piercing blue eyes like Laurence.
"Ah, you must Laurence's friend, correct? My names Kristina."
I nodded. "Y/N, mam."
I stepped inside, it was quite a cosy home.
"Laurence's room is down the corridor, just make a left turn and you should see it," his mother hurried off elsewhere.
I followed the directions she told me, and ended up at his door. It had a sign on the front which wrote 'Laurence'.
I knocked on the door. "It's Y/N."
"Come in," He coughed.
I stepped inside, he was sitting up on his bed drinking a glass of water. He looked quite tired.
I averted my eyes to my left, and noticed an older girl crouched down, appearing to be checking his temperature. She had flaming orange hair with a green sweater.
"Eh? Who's this? Another girlfriend?" She snickered.
"Shut up, Cadenza— oh! Y/N..uh this is my sister, well, adopted older sister Cadenza," Laurence stammered.
"Hey!" She grinned mischievously. She had a pretty British accent, but I have a bad feeling about this.
"Sooooo~~ you're dating my brother huh? He won't admit it obviously. C'mon! Spill it!" She stuck out her tongue.
"H-huh!? N-no.." I waved my hands frantically, a blush creeping its way onto my cheeks. The tall girl walked over to me.
"Hehe..sure sure, he's quite the Casanova you know. Oh, and may I add he's quite rough when he wants to be— I walked in on him one time only to see a trail of hickey's down this girls neck! I think her name was Michi..? OH AND ALSO!! He's a real pervert as well, one time I caught him watc-"
"SHUT UP!" Laurence slammed his hand on his side table, his face burning red.
"Aw okay, just letting your little girlfriend here know that she's in for quite a ride," she winked.
"We're not dating!" Laurence and I yelled in unison.
"Awww! You thought of the exact same thing at the same time— this is absolutely destiny. There's no doubt," she opened the bedroom door to exit.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go check up on Caleb, kay? Cya around Y/N," and with that she left the room.
"I..I'm so sorry about that. She does that a lot when she sees me hanging with other girls..sigh," he huffed.
"Who's Caleb?" I asked, making my way toward him, sitting down at the edge of his bedside.
"Oh, that's Cadenza's little bro," he shrugged.
"Ah..okay," I nodded.
"Also..forget what she said about me and Michi. That's so embarrassing thinking back on it..gah," he held his head low.
"That's fine, isn't Michi that purpled hair meifwa?" I questioned. He simply nodded in response.
"Yeah, Michi's a huge bitch. She ended up cheating on me last year actually.."
"Oh, that sucks. I'm sorry that happened," I sympathised.
"Pfft, don't be. I'm glad I left her. There's someone else who's so much better than her actually.." he mumbled the last sentence lowly, but I'm quite sure I heard it.
I could feel my heart thumping. Was he talking about me? No. He'd never like me. Stop getting your hopes up.
Laurence and I ended up speaking for an hour or so. He seemed quite sleepy through it all, but it was evident that the drowsiness got the better of him.
He yawned. "Y/N?" He pulled me toward him, my head was resting in the crook of his neck.
"W-what..?
thump.
thump.
My heart was pounding so hard. It wouldn't stop, I hope he can't hear it.
"You know..you look really cute today," he yawned again.
I didn't respond. I was too shocked to respond.
He ruffled my hair, smiling softly.
"I'd kiss you right now, but I'm sick, and I don't want to see you sick," he whispered huskily into my ear, sending a cold shiver down my spine.
His body fell backwards, and I fell forward with him. He must've fell asleep. I slowly sat upright, I was a complete blushing mess at this point.
"Oh! Now this is gold, I can't wait to show him this photo," I heard a familiar British voice from behind. Cadenza.
"Sorry sweetie, but embarrassing my little bro is what I do best. I knew you two were dating," she smirked slyly.
"I-it's not what it l-looks like..!" I stuttered.
"It's exactly what it looks like," she grinned, speeding away.
I'm not sure what came over me, but I found myself staring at Laurence. I smiled, and did something I thought I wouldn't have the courage to. I placed a small kiss on the top of his forehead. I didn't care if I got sick, really. I just needed to kiss him, it felt so right, but I knew it was totally wrong. I'm basically going against my parents wishes, I'm supposed to be dating Garroth, though, I don't want to.
As I left his house, waving his mother goodbye, I realised something.
I was hopelessly in love with Laurence— the boy I have no chances with.
AN UPDATE!? WHAAAAT—
Also, let me know if there's any inconsistency's within this story, because I think there might be a few.
