"Hey, YN?"
I was about to leave my home, but father stopped me from doing so.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I'll make this quick, you have school after all. I think I might be too harsh on you..." father began, "It's taken me such a long time to realise this..after you blew up at me a few days ago, I've kept thinking about it."
I stared up at him in confusion.
"I think..I won't use you as a mannequin for testing my clothes no longer. On top of that...you're allowed outside until the sun goes down. I think you're at an age where, well, you don't need me telling you what do do..I'm truely sorry."
His arms wrapped around me as I stood in shock at his actions. I slowly hugged back, a smile tugging on my lips.
"Thanks, dad." I let go as I opened the door behind me.
"I'll see you after school."
I tapped my foot on the pavement, a giddy aura radiated off of me. I was quite content, until Laurence and Garroth crossed my mind, again.
"Hey..." I heard a voice from behind. I spun around, seeing a familiar blonde staring down at me.
"G-garroth..." I stammered.
"Yeah, uh, hi Y/N."
We walked into the school together, the tension was thick. I'd look up at him now and again, his mouth opening and closing as if he wanted to say something. No words came out.
"Hey~ oh! Hey..Garroth." Laurence smiled hesitantly.
"Hey."
We all stared at each other, not really knowing what to say.
"You know..we're all friends here haha. Let's act like it!" Laurence laughed. I couldn't help but giggle.
Garroth on the other hand seemed troubled. His dull eyes were plastered to the floor, Laurence noticed and waved his hand around to grab his attention.
"Garroth?"
"Agh..ya know..this is a bad time to say this, but I gotta get it out!" Garroth's gaze turned to mine.
"I'm..sorry. Uh..for everything. I didn't consider your feelings and well, it was dumb of me to do all that."
"It's fine Garroth, really," I smiled, placing my hand on his shoulder. He still seemed a bit sad.
"Y/N— WATCH OUT!" I heard Laurence yell abruptly, ruining the moment.
Before I could react, my face met the ground, a foot hit me straight in the stomach. I let out a cough, along with a gasp for air. My vision blurred, all I could focus on was the pain in my gut.
"Ivy, what the hell did you just do!?" Garroth shouted.
"Tch, I needed to get your attention somehow, babe," Ivy licked her lips as she flashed her phone at Garroth.
I could hear audio playing, despite my ears ringing like crazy. That's when it struck me, was she playing the audio from yesterday!?
I could somewhat make out Garroths expression, it seemed cold. Lifeless. Dull. Ivy kicked me in the head as she finished showing him evidence.
"Laurence, what the fuck!? Y/N and I just broke up, and here you are trying to get with her?"
"Garroth..no, that's not it at all—"
"Well that's what it looks like dumbass. You do realise it's hard to get over someone, right? Are you an idiot?"
"Garroth, hear me out— seriously dude!"
"There's nothing for me to hear out, Laurence. The photo and audio says it all. And Y/N..seriously? How could you. You're just as bad as Laurence." Garroth yelled.
I was in too much pain to respond, nor did I care. My ears began to grow more fuzzy.
Laurence crouched down beside me, attempting to hoist me up on his shoulder. I could make out Garroth walking away with Ivy.
"Shit. This is all my fault..I'm sorry for _______ __ ____ ____ ___, Y/N. Especially during a time like this- god I'm stupid," Laurence choked back a sob.
"Huh..?"
"Nothing, Y/N. I'll just take you somewhere safe, okay.
"W-who got t-that audio...wha..t" I asked slowly, my voice cracking.
"Most likely the shadow knight leader. That bastard..."
My body was shaking as he carried me to an empty hallway within the school. He carefully sat me down, as he rested beside me, huffing.
"We need..to tell Garroth what really h..happened. I k-know you were just t-trying to comfort m..me.." I stammered.
"Yeah, I know. Don't worry, though. We'll bring him back."
"You promise?"
"Yeah, I promise."
