I'm really thankful for the support /// aah. I never thought my story could get 5k lmao. I learnt a lot about writing from creating this, and I hope the next book I publish will be even better.⚠️there's swearing towards the end of this chapter btw
Laurence hasn't been at school for almost a week. During this time, I had to deal with Garroth, practicing for the photo shoot for the lovers lane mag, and the most stressful of all, trying to forget about Laurence.
I know I don't have chances with him, and yet I still cling on to some kind of hope?
The rain pitted down against the concrete as I made my way towards the school gates. I forgot my umbrella, dammit.
"Hey!" I felt a tap on my shoulder, causing me to jump. I spun around, my face reddening.
Laurence.
He grinned at me, an umbrella in his hand. He outstretched his arm toward me, the umbrella was now covering my head.
"Thanks," I mumbled sheepishly, averting my eyes down nervously.
"Wanna walk together?" Laurence suggested. I nodded.
I was questioning whether to bring the events of last week up to him. I doubt he remembers what he said to me back then.
•
He yawned. "Y/N?" He pulled me toward him, my head was resting in the crook of his neck.
"You know..you look really cute today," he yawned again.
"I'd kiss you right now, but I'm sick, and I don't want to see you sick," he whispered huskily into my ear, sending a cold shiver down my spine.
•Oh god, just thinking about it makes me nervous. Maybe I won't mention it. He might be embarrassed about it anyways.
I was too tangled up in my own embarrassing thoughts to realise a hand had intertwined with my own, and I was being pulled back. I could see Laurence turn around to look at me, his mouth slightly agape as he looked directly above my head.
I turned my head upward and saw that signature blonde hair.
"G-Garroth..!?" I stumbled on my own words.
"S- sorry.." he mumbled.
"What're you two doing holding hands like that?" Laurence asked.
"It's not what it—"
"We're dating, silly. We've been dating for a while now, actually," Garroth interrupted. There was a crowd around us now.
"Oh! Does that mean I have a chance with Laurence now?"
"Why is HE dating Y/N anyway? That's the girl who fell over right? What a klutz."
"Haha, Garroth doesn't deserve her."
"Y/N..why didn't you tell me?"
"I...I didn't want to hurt you," I responded. For a second, I thought I noticed Laurence's straight face falter into a frown.
He smiled awkwardly. "It's okay. You should've told me in the first place."
I nodded.
What? What just happened?
The crowd was disappearing.
I was expecting him to be angry, he wasn't? Not at all?
Garroth placed a small kiss on the top of my head, before he invited Laurence to walk into the school with us.
I let out a sigh of relief, but I was a little bit upset. I kinda wish he'd gotten overprotective or something of the sorts..I'm just glad nothing escalated too much.
We were all quiet the rest of the way.
I looked up at Laurence.
He looked upset.
Was he upset that we didn't tell him that we were 'dating'? Or was it something else?
Suddenly, a girl ran up to me, slapping me straight across the face. She had familiar bright pink hair and bright blue eyes, which were narrowed downward in an angry tone.
"I-ivy!?" Garroth was shocked.
She punched me straight in the nose.
"YOU!" She kicked me onto the ground, the boys staring in shock at the girls sudden actions.
My nose began bleeding, I winced in pain.
"You bitch! You took my Garrith away from me!" She kicked me again. I coughed.
"You know how hard it was to tolerate you and Garrith talking to each other every day!? It was so fucking annoying. And then I see you two holding hands and all that bullshit— I just couldn't keep my cool!" She spat.
I didn't respond.
"And now, I see you two kissing each other!? Is this a joke—"
Laurence pushed Ivy away, pinning her up against a wall. Garroth began helping me up, shooting death glares at Ivy.
"You're a bitch, you know that? I'm never going to date you," he spoke with malice laced in his voice. Ivy looked up at him in shock, Laurence releasing his grip on Ivy. Her eyes were wide, tears welling up in them.
"B-but Garrith! W-we're destined to be together, aren't we?" She sniffled.
"I never want to see you again." Garroth spoke harshly.
"Oh, and you're still pronouncing my name wrong," he informed her, before glancing down at me instead.
"Let's just leave, she isn't worth our time," Laurence sighed.
Garroth grabbed onto my hand, whilst Laurence rushed over to me, holding me up for support.
"Tch, watch out Y/N, I'm going to bring you down. I can't wait to see your crying face when I ruin your perfect little life," Ivy grinned maliciously, wiping away her tears.
