"Damn it" I huff as I slam my locker.
"What's wrong with you" max asks next to me. I see joey walking down the hall with a grin on his face as I glare at him.
"What's up princess?"he smirks
"Oh nothing just that the devil was playing his music all night. How are you so awake"I squint my eyes
"Oh me? I slept like an angel"
"Bi-"I start to say but get cut off
"Woah guys calm down please I do not need a fight happening today. We have a game remember?"max faces me
"Shit no I forgot."I groan "wheres my cousin?"
"He didn't ride with you?" Joey asks confused.
As I'm about to reply I see him walking with Selena down the hall. I hear gasps of confusion and surprise come from the students. I guess seeing their jock with a nerd is wrong?
"Sup guys" Alex smiles
"Alex can I talk to you for a second?" I ask smirking. He follows me a little ways down the hall.
"You do remember the bet right?" I chuckle
"Yeah. We're just friends. You can ride to school with friends." He rolls his eyes
"Just don't forget the bet or you'll loose."
"Yeah and what were you doing with Joey on the roof?"
—
"Alright team I want you to go out there and give it your all. This is no fun and games it's all serious business." Coach yells. I nod and run towards the field.
I stand in front of my opponent and immediately recognize him. I laugh.
"Sup' Stevens" I smirk at my enemy
"Well hello babygirl" he smirks back.
I crossed my arms challenging him as the reff throws the coin in the air. Heads we go first. I walk off the field giving Doug Stevens the nasty glare I can muster up. I go over to the bench and see Joey sitting there looking at me, I stand between his open legs looking at him confused
"What are you doing" I ask
"Right now I'm just enjoying this position" he smirks
"I meant what are you doing here"
"Coach asked me to come and give you guys pointers and shit" he sighs
"I didn't know you played soccer"
"I'm the best at it" Joey smirks
"Yeah right" I roll my eyes
"That Stevens guy is looking like he wants to kill us both" he laughs
"What'd you do sleep with his sister" I eye Doug then look at Joey to see him staring at me with a blank face "oh god you did." My eyes widen
"Yep then I might have never called her again" he shrugs but before I could reply coach calls us over.
——
Doug's body was pushing me, pressing on me. But as we neared the goal with the score only 2-2 I knew even the best keeper couldn't keep up with me. Then it hit me. I turned slightly to get a look at the goalie and see Doug's expression, his face full of hate with his mouth up in a snarl.
Then I fell to the ground clutching my ankle. Groaning I watched as the ball got kicked down the field but the pain was too bad as I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Oh shit" I heard doug say behind me
I turn on my back to see him get shoved by an angry Joey.
"Bre" he asks worried "can you get up?" he says looking into my eyes. Just then I got all my energy back and stood up with his help. "You okay?" I rolled my ankle and noticed the throbbing was going away but still felt a little bit sore.
Just when I was about to reply someone's arms went around my waist and pulled me towards their chest
"I'm sorry. I should have been faster to help you" I turn to see Alex looking at me worriedly
"I'm fine. But look he got a foul. It's all good" I gave a small smile and point towards Doug. He nods and runs towards Coach
"Your good at faking things aren't you" joey asks making me look at him confused "bre your ankles cut."
"Oh, it doesn't hurt just a little scratch from his cleats I guess" I shrug and walk it off. Trying to hide my limp.
We ended up winning with 5-4 close but good enough.
