Finished Antidote

'I wish I had amnesia, that way I could forget about the death of my sister, and me being in the organization, and spend the rest of my life with you'

Even though it's been 3 years since she said that, his mind was still unable to press the pause button to it, the words continuously swirled and blurred in his mind. Was she really just joking?

The organization was bought down 2 years ago, yet Haibara still hasn't been able to successfully finish the antidote and Conan was starting to get immune to the temporary antidote.

He traced his thumb along the edge of the little box he held so tightly. It was his way of bribing Haibara into giving him the antidote; buying her an expensive fusae bag or a charm necklace. This time, he bought the necklace because it was on a discount.

It was a silver necklace with an amethyst, shaped in an oval, dangling at the bottom. It had a fragile chain, even one drop can result in the ending of the necklace. Conan knew Haibara would love it since... it was Haibara. What do you expect?

The bright sun shone on Conan as he made his way along the busy road. A soft breeze swept passed him, making the tree sway back and forth like it's dancing. People from all ages, young and old, were just casually walking around. Conan smiled as the sound of their laughter entered his ears, it was filled with joy, happiness and love. He suddenly came to a halt when he realized that he's reached his destination. The house of an old neighbor, and a certain evil yawny eyed girl.

Knock knock

Immediately, he heard steps coming it's way to the door, and the sound of something falling over in the process 'must be that clumsy inventor.' A moment later, a professor opened the door with a bright smile on his face.

'Oh hey, Shinichi, come on in,' Agasa welcomed him. 'So... what did you come here for,' He ushers him in, as he sweeps the dirt of his lab coat.

'I need to get a temporary antidote from Haibara to go on a date with Ran to the movies,' Conan's heart skipped a beat at the thought of Ran.

Agasa's facial expression darkened a little, but recovered quickly.

'Haibara's in the basement'

In the most discourteous fashion, he kicked off his shoes and ran for the basement like a predator hunting for a prey.

Knock knock

'Who's there?' A familiar voice answered.

'It's me' he stated simply.

'Kudo, just who I needed to see'

Shinichi opened the door, and saw a strawberry blond hair girl, wearing a lab coat, and was facing the computer.

'Was that supposed to be sarcastic?' He asked.

'No,' she turned around, 'I was actually about to call you to meet me here'.

His eyebrows rose into a questioning gaze as he eyed nervously around the room. In the corner of his eye, he spotted a small capsule sitting on the table.

'Is...is that what I think it is?'Conan's eyes widened.

'It is indeed, the antidote is finished,'

Conan was now more excited than a kid getting their first toy. He couldn't believe it, after all these years of hard work, something finally happened, he can finally return to his normal body. He's going to go on a date with Ran and solve mysteries under his own name and... Haibara suddenly interrupted his thoughts.

'Are you sure you want to turn back?'

This got Conan's attention.

'Have you ever thought of how the detective boys will feel if you left them? How I'd felt if you left me?' The last sentence was barely audible, she wasn't sure if Conan could hear her. She folded her arms tightly across her chest, as if she was attempting to protect herself, 'Sure you'll get your old life and... Ran back, but have you ever considered what others will feel?'

Conan's hands balled into a fist, he stood up and looked at her with fury in his eyes, 'Haibara, why are you doing this, you know that you're the cause of all of this! I want my old life back than anything else, you should know that I'll pick Ran!'

But then a thought struck him.

'What about you?' He said almost in a whisper.

'Not sure' Haibara turned away, 'You can leave now'

He hesitated for a moment before placing the little box on the table,

'This is a gift for you, for completing the antidote, it was supposed to be used for a bribery for you to give me the temporary antidote.' He headed towards the door

Once he stepped outside, Conan felt a pang in his chest. He went too far this time, he's going to have to apologize. He took a shaky breath and closed the door. Haibara stared at the little present Conan left her before he left. Gradually, tears started flowing out of her eyes, she was filled with sadness.

'Why, Kudo, why?'

A/N: This is my first fanfiction, so constructive criticism are welcomed. Just to clarify, THIS IS A COAI/SHINSHI fanfic, so if this is not the pairing you adore, plz just stay away. The characters are a little bit (a lot a bit) OOC, especially Haibara, and I know some parts sucks, but bare with me here, it's gonna get better. There's also gonna be Kazuha/Heiji pairing in here, just putting it out there.
