Forgotten Memories [Detective Conan Fanfic]

They had just finished period 1, with Shiho and Shinichi whispering and under their breaths the whole time. But who can blame them? It was just too easy for the geniuses.

'What do we have next period,' Shiho asked Shinichi who was pouting like a child.

'Music,' he replied, his eyes gazing towards the floor.

It took her a moment to figure out what was going on before her lips curled into a menacing smirk.

'Ah ra, looks like the detective has their hard times as well,' she stated calmly, snickering inside.

Shinichi scowled at her, 'oi oi,'

They heard footsteps coming up behind them.

Suddenly, Shinichi felt a massive weight on his back.

'Oi, you guys ditched us!' Heiji exclaimed, jumping on to Shinichi's back.

'Yeah, and we don't know I'll way around,' Kazuha added, placing her hands on her hips.

'Anyways, what do we have,'

'Music,' Shiho replied glancing over to Shinichi, who was slouching.

'Haha, yo Kudo, heard you weren't much of a singer, eh,' Heiji remarked, patting Shinichi on the back.

'Yeah, no kidding,' he replied.

In music class

'Ok class, let's start with a few warm ups shall we,' the teacher declared, readying her hands on the piano, 'let's start with the c major scale,'

The students sang in perfect tune, except for one....

'Well done class,' the teacher smiled sweetly, 'but Shinichi, I think you were just a teensy bit of tune,'

The class erupted into laughter, it's been ages since they've heard the iconic singing of Shinichi. It was indeed, interesting.

'And,' the teacher added, 'it might be better if you stop looking at the new strawberry blonde student in front of you,'

Shinichi and Shiho's face turned crimson red, while some people cheered and some people gazed at Ran in confusion, only to see a smile on her face.

Shiho could feel her heart pace quicken as she stole a brief glance at Shinichi, who was staring at the ground with his blushed face. She immediately returned to her poker face, but she curled her lips into a small and barely visible smile.

I never thought the detective can be this cute.

'Yo Kudo, looks like you got yourself a new chick,' one of his classmates remarked, 'so is Ran free?'

Everyone turned their attention to Ran, who also had her face blushed and mouth agape.

'Um...'

Shinichi hesitated before speaking, 'no, she's taken, not by me, but someone else,'

His thoughts wondered to Dr Araide, the talented doctor who he knows, would take better care of his best friend.

Ran's lips curled up into a smile as she knew that the detective knew the truth. Butterflies started to flutter in her stomach as she thought of him.

Dr Araide

The way his eyes softly turns into a crescent moon shape when he shows off his angelic smile. The way he gently rest his cheek against his first when his tired. And the way he unconsciously glance at Ran when she smiles or laugh.

Everything around her disappears as she delves deeper into her experiences with Dr Araide the last few days.

Ran offered to help him babysit a cousin of him. While caring for the kid, the two occasionally sent small and quick glimpses at each other.
Dr Araide gave Ran and Sonoko a ride over to the zoo, and the day soon became an unofficial date with Sonoko being the third wheel.

The karate prodigy snapped back to reality as she realised that everyone still had there eyes on her. She bashfully looked away as Kazuba slowly inched her way over to her friend who was as red as a tomato. In a diffident manner, Ran eyed Kazuha, who was quietly whispering something in her ear.

'Who is that person,' Kazuha asked curiously, not knowing that Ran's face has again, turned bright red.

Shiho and Heiji shifted closer to the two girls, hoping to be able to eavesdrop on their conversation.

'U-um,' Ran stuttered, noticing Shiho and Heiji casually listening to them.

'Come on just tells us,' Heiji plead, or rather exhorted, the shipping part of his brain perking up.

A/N: the shipping part is like the part where you ship people.

'Oi oi,' Shinichi walked towards the group and whispered into Shiho's ear, 'I didn't know you were interested in these things,'

'There's a lot of things you don't know about me,' She smirked mockingly.

Shinichi's face fell a little bit as he stared towards the ground. Shiho saw Shinichi slightly pouting before he spoke up.

'Well I could learn those things, because now that I think about it, the B.O is gone, maybe we should get to know each other better,' he suggested, looking directly at the shocked scientist who secretly had her heartbeat race 10 miles per minute.

Heiji heard that and he wiggled his eyebrows.

'Did you just ask her out?' he asked in a cheeky manner.

'You can count it as whatever you want,' he replied without hesitation, 'but to us, it'll just be a friendly period, getting to know each other better,'

She felt her heart drop a bit after knowing that it was not a implication to a date. However Shiho knows she couldn't get her hopes up, after all he just wants to be friends, right. Nothing more, nothing less.

'Whatever you say Kudo, whatever you say,'

A/N: I know this chapter seems a bit rushed but I'm out of ideas, and anyways, did anyone recognize where that singing and staring thing is from??? Yes, it's when Conan's class was singing, and Mitsuhiko was staring at Haibara while singing.

I think the Mitsuhiko x Haibara ship is cute, but my heart is already set on Shiho x Shinichi so yea.
