Forgotten Memories [Detective Conan Fanfic]

Classroom

'Wow,' Ran stated in awe.

'Yeah,' he replied.

'This is all too much for my mind to process at once,'

'Look, I'm sorry that I hid my true identity from you, but it was in order to protect you,' Shinichi explained

'I understand,'

Although Ran felt left out at the thought of Shinichi hiding something from her, she knew Shinichi did it for the better.

'And Ran I hope we can still be friends, I really value our friendship,' he admitted

Ran smiled sweetly, 'of course, it might be awkward for us at first, but we'll get better,'

Suddenly, Ran started to giggle and smile at Shinichi cheekily.

'When are you going to ask Shiho out?' She wiggled her eyebrows.

His face blushed furiously as he gazed down at the floor.

'Shhh, keep it down,'

Beep beep

She picked her phone up, as her face lit up at the name appearing on the screen.

'Shinichi, I got to go, bye,' She waved him off.

He accidentally eavesdropped on the name Ran used as she accepted the call. He curled his lips up into a genuine smile, walking back to his locker. Take care of her, Dr  Araide.

Time Skip

In class

The three teenagers were patiently standing outside their new classroom, waiting for the teacher to invite them in. Kazuha felt butterflies flying about in her stomach while imagining what her new class would be like. She fought the urge to squeal, as a surge of excitement rushed through her body.

I can't wait to meet and make new friends!

Her lips curled up into a giddy smile, as she glanced over to Heiji and Shiho.

Both had there arms crossed across the chest, with a bored expression on their faces. Heiji was whistling the tune to Shawn Mendes's 'Treat You Better', with Kazuha secretly hoping he was singing it to her. Shiho was leaning against the wall, her eyes slowly drooping down, not caring about her new class.

If Shinichi was here, he would comment on Shiho's old habit of always being sleepy.

The door to the classroom slid open and out popped the teacher's head. She had dark blue hair in a pixie haircut, her huge glasses made her look very child-like. Shiho raised her eyebrows into a quizzical look as she stared blankly at the teacher who reminded her of her second childhood sensei.

'You guys can come on in,' she ushered them in.

The three teenager piled in, eyes wondering all over them as they stood in the front of the classroom. Shinichi unconsciously eyed Shiho, who was scanning around the classroom and taking in the environment. Ran looked at the teens standing in front of the class. Suddenly she let out a gasp, as a realization hit her.

'Oh my god! Kazuha, Shiho, Heiji!' she yelled, instantly regretting shouting that in front of the class.

'Ran!' Kazuha replied excitedly, running towards her.

The two friends crashed into a hug as the whole class stared at them.

Heiji let out a cough and stared accusingly at Kazuha.

'Oh, sorry,' she apologized before returning back to Heiji.

'Looks like some of you already know the new transfer students,' the teacher stated, 'but I'll still get them to introduce themselves,'

Heiji went first, 'The name is Heiji Hattori,' a few girls swooned and fluttered their eyelashes at him, 'I like solving crimes, and I'm a high school detective, just like someone else in this class,' his eyes made it's way over to Shinichi who was smirking.

'My name is Kazuha Toyama, I like shopping, it's very nice to meet all over you,' she introduced herself sweetly, while she caught sight of a group of guys checking her out.

'My name is Shiho Miyano, I'm a scientist, and a certain someone's Watson,' Unknown to Shiho, Shinichi was unconsciously staring at her from when she walked in the room, Shiho caught his gaze and returned it with her trademark smirk.

Shinichi immediately glanced away, blushing furiously, just realizing that he was eyeing at her like an idiot. There was a few whistles and cheers in the room directed to Shiho, which made Shinichi feel slightly - no, very uncomfortable. He glared straight at them, making it clear that he was not happy.

 Ran caught sight of that and couldn't help but smile genuinely, an image of Dr  Araide popped into her mind as she thought dreamily about their interactions together.

'Alright, we'll get you seated down now,' the teacher said, scanning the classroom, 'Ran is anyone sitting next to you?'

'Uh, not at this instant, but Sonoko usually sits next to me,' she explained.

'Oh yea, she's on vacation, there's two seats at the back and one seat beside Shinichi....'

'Kazuha and I will go sit at the back!' Heiji offered immediately, dragging Kazuha away in the most ungallant manner.

'Ok then, Shiho do you mind sitting next to Shinichi?' the teacher pointed to the seat beside Shinichi.

Shiho simply shrugged and walked over there.

'Deja vu?' she whispered in his ears.

'Definitely,' he replied without hesitation.
