A Not So Pleasant Surprise

Shinichi's POV

Once I arrived back home, I saw a letter in my mailbox with fancy writing on it.

Kudo Shinichi, you have been invited to the Annual Detective Party in Osaka. You will be invited on a cruise so please bring seasick tablets if necessary. Please wear formal clothing and feel free to bring friends or relatives to the party. This party will commence on the 26th of July at 4pm to 27th of July 12pm, it will be located at the seaside dock.

Holmes Company

I've never heard of this company before, but I'd like to go and see what this is all about. Maybe I'll bring Agasa along too. I need time to relax myself to forget about Haibara.

'Wait if it's in Osaka.....'

My phone suddenly rang, Dang....

I picked up the phone and a voice I couldn't be more familiar of filled my ears.

'YO Kudo!'

'Whats up Hattori' I knew it was going to be him

'You got that invite didn't you

'And I suppose you did too'

'Looks like there's gonna be another case,' I felt him smirk on the other end. 'You're still the good ol' death magnet.'

'Be sure to be ready for it'

'You bet I will'

We hung up the phone at the same time. It was no surprise that Hattori would be there, since he's a pretty legit detective, even though I'm better. He'd most likely bring Kazuha or his parents. If only Haibara was here, then I could bring her. When that thought struck me, I immediately shook it away, however her disappearance was still lingering at the back of my mind.

At school

'WHAT!!!!' Sonoko's ear piercing scream echoed through the school hallway.
'Y-Youre going to leave Ran again?'

'It's only for a few hours, and plus, she can go with me if she wants' I assured, in the most irritated manner.

'Well, but who knows what case you'll get involved in this time, you might spend months working on it!' Sonoko snapped back

'S- Sh-Shinichi, I would love to go with you', Ran suddenly blurted out, ' but I'm taking my parents on a vacation, it's the only chance mum and dad can be together.

'It's fine Ran, don't worry about it',

I walked away, hanging my bag over my shoulders. I really didn't want to put up with this anymore, with Sonoko's constant complaining and Ran's continuous apologies, I just wanted to get out of here.

A few days later

No ones POV

'Agasa hurry up, or else we're gonna be late!' Shinichi shouted.

He was wearing a navy blue tuxedo, perfectly showing off his graceful body, matched with a pair of polished black shoes and a boyish smirk that no girl can resist.

'Alright, alright, I'm done' Agasa yelled

The old inventor was wearing a tight black tuxedo, that looked like it was going to burst any second now. His hair looked very frizzy and he had those typical round glasses to top it off.
