I woke up to the smell of tea. I knew that my uncle was awake. Before I got out of bed I looked over at my sister Delila. She was still asleep. I quietly got out of bed and made my way to the kitchen. There I found my uncle.
"Morning Peter."
"Oh, good morning Kira."
I walked over to the cabinet to grab a cup, but of course Peter took the last one. I then walked over to the sink and washed one out. Peter already had a pot of hot water ready. I poured some into my cup.
After I was done with my tea I heard a yawn from down the hall.
"Del's up."
I rinsed out my cup and was about to make Del a cup of tea.
"I'll make Delila some tea. You go meet up with Scarlet and you girls go to the market."
"Okay Peter. I'll see you later."
I grabbed my bag then as I was walking through the kitchen door way Del stepped in front of me.
"Where are you going Kira?" Del said as she rubbed her eye.
"I'm going to the market with Scarlet. I'll be back in a bit."
"Can I go with you? I want to see Scarlet."
"No, you're going to stay here with Peter. Okay Del?"
"Okay. And stop calling me Del. i'm not a little girl anymore. I'm nine."
"You're still a little girl to me, Del"
I kissed Del on the head then went out the door. The only reason why I call Delila, Del is because that's what mom used to call her. I used to just call her Delila like everyone else. But then mom and dad died in the house fire. Calling Delila, Del is just my reminder of mom.
In the middle of my thoughts I heard someone call my name up ahead. It was Scarlet.
"Good morning Kira."
"Good morning Scarlet."
Scarlet made it by my side. We then went down another trail that led to the market.
Scarlet is my best friend, well my only friend. She knows about everything that happened six years ago. Although Del dosen't. She was only three when that happened. I just told her that they were on a very long trip.
I then started thinking about a book I read last night. While I was clean after Del and Peter went to sleep, I found a book. It was about the stone table about a mile from our house. I sat down in an old chair and started to read. It talked about what it was for.
It read, "The stone table is meant to bring power to someone. That person has to pick someone who is a twoblood to be their sacrifice. The sacrificer will strap the twoblood to the table and say these words..."
I wasn't able to read it because it was in another language. But the
person who was sacrificing the twoblood would kill them then they would become a demon. That book really worried me because Del is a twoblood. She got her power from mom. Mom was a fullblood. She had the power to heal. But Del's power was somehow more powerful. Del is able to heal animals, humans, and even other twobloods. Mom was only able to heal animals and humans.
"Hello? Earth to Kira. Is anyone there?" Scarlet said waving her hand infront of my face.
"Huh, what?"
"What's with you? You're never this distracted. Did Delila save another animal and beg to keep it?"
"No, I was just thinking of this..."
I bumped into someone. I looked up and it was a boy.
