The boy had brown hair and he looked so strong yet calm.
"I am so sorry miss I wasn't looking where I was going."
"No, it was my fault. I wasn't paying attention."
I helped him pick up all of the supplies he had bought. As I got up I pushed my long black hair out of my face. I then handed him his stuff.
"Again I'm so sorry. I'm Alex."
I couldn't help but just stare at him.
"Uh, this is where you tell him your name."
"Oh, sorry. Hi I'm Kira."
"Yeah, hi. Could I maybe take you out for coffee later today?"
"Oh, no. I don't drink coffee."
"Oh, well then I guess I'll see you around."
"But you can take me out for tea."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah, but I'm paying."
"No I insist. It's my treat."
I was getting a little annoyed. Luckily Scarlet stepped in.
"Hey, can I join you guys? how about I pay?"
"Sure, but I'm still paying."
Both of them sighed.
"Fine. where do you want to meet up?"
"How about my house?"
His face went blank. Then he sighed again.
"But then know one's paying," both Alex and Scarlet said.
"You guys can still pay if you want."
We all laughed
"Well can I have your address so I can meet you there?"
I grabbed out a pencil and paper and wrote my address on it.
"Here you go. See you later Alex."
"Yeah see you."
Alex and I went our separate ways. At least until later. We then proceeded to the market.
"You got a date! You got a date!"
"It's not a date. It's just a... an apology drink."
"Sure it is! So hey, what were you saying before?"
"What do you mean?"
"Before you bumped into Alex. You had something on your mind that distracted you."
"Oh, it was just this book I read last night."
"Oooh. was it a romance?"
"No Scarlet it was not a romance. It was just a book that had information in it."
"That's boring. Why do you read thoughs? Why can't you read a romance or an adventure book? Or at least a fiction. Why does it always have to be something that explains what something else was?"
"Because I have to learn as much as I can to take care of Del."
"Ugh. you have Peter to do that. Leave the taking care of and learning more of stuff to him."
"You know I've been given the responsibility of taking care of Del from my mom. Or did you forget about that one?"
"Could you refresh my memory," she said as she laughed nervously.
"As mom was handing me Del from the bedroom she told me that she wasn't going to make it out of the house, and that Del was now my responsibility. That I have to take care of her and make sure she doesn't get hurt. And ever since that day I've taken care of her with complete protection."
"That story is so sad everytime I hear it."
Her eyes were watering. I rolled my eyes.
