Revenge (Completed)

Chapter 8

Scarlet and I finally found an Inn to stay in for a while. We got our key and went to our room. When I opened the door to our room Scarlet plopped down on the bed.

"This is so comfortable. So hey, do you know why who ever it is burned down the forest?"

"I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I have a feeling it was my fault."

"Why would it be your fault?"

"I mine as well tell you the whole story, starting from just before Alex left."

"Who's Alex. Oooh, is it your boyfriend?"

She started giggling, just like she would before she forgot everything.

"No. he's not my boyfriend. He's just a guy I bumped into at the market yesterday. And I invited him over for some tea."

"So you asked him out first? Now that's what I call girl power! They always say let the boy ask first, but you asked first and that's amazing."

"I'm not dating him! I knocked everything out of his hands and I was just offering an apology drink."

"Sure. We can say that... for now."

"Oh my God Scarlet that is exactly what you said yesterday."

"Well, what happened next?"
"Well he came over. We got to know each other. And when he was getting ready to leave he told me that my uncle Peter was giving my sister Del a life changing surprize. At the time I thought it was just a really good surprize that Del would love. Then he left. And after you left I cleaned up the house and went to bed. I couldn't fall asleep cause I had something on my mind. Then my Uncle came in and got Del to show her the surprize. After they left I was about to get up and get me a glass of water, but when I lit my candle the book I was reading the previous night was sitting there on my nightstand. I didn't know why, but I decided I would read some more of it. The book was about a stone table about a mile from my back yard. And I found out what my uncle was really doing. After my sister screamed my name in fear of what was happening, I ran out the door when I got there I saw her strapped to the Stone table while this woman was distracting her with this."

I pulled the gold ribbon out of my pocket.

"I ran up and pushed the woman and my uncle out of the way, but it was too late. He completed the ritual to take her power. And because I was the person closest to her when she died I was given her power. And now I'm a... Well don't get scared or anything Scarlet, but I'm a demon."

"Oh, I'm not scared. You're obviously nice. I mean you saved me. You helped me get out of the burning forest without me even getting a single burn. So you're obviously a good demon."

"Thanks Scarlet. But I think that Peter doesn't know that so he tried burning the forest to kill me for taking Del's power. But I know he's still out there, and I'm I'm going to take revenge on him for killing my baby sister."

"That's so sad. I hope you do get revenge on him. That's just not right. You can't just take someone's life for power. Oh, I know. You should go to the police and report him."

"No Scarlet. This is something I have to do on my own. Without the police."

"Well at least can I go? I want to see you kick his butt."

"No. you have to stay here. If you go with me you will only get hurt."

"But..."

Someone knocked on the door. I walked over and opened it. All I started to see was flashing lights from cameras.
