Chapter eight- he's not my boyfriend anymore
M I L L I E

I woke up with a pounding head ache and a sour feeling in my stomach. I looked over to my clock to read 9:46am making me sigh.

Sadly it was Monday, not letting me sleep in. I decided to get up and find some pills to calm both my head ache and my stomach ache. I have to say, this one of my better hang overs.

I threw a slice of bread into the toaster. I sat down at the kitchen table with my cell phone, waiting for the toaster to pop.

I scrolled through hundreds of  notifications on my lock screen, most from Snapchat. I opened up my phone to not only see my phone app with a red notification saying five in the top right corner, but also my text message app with a twenty three in top right corner.

I confusingly opened up my phone app and to see who had called. One call was from Romeo- probably wondering when's the next time we can go out again. While the other four were from Finn.

Why would he call?

I decided against my urge to call him back and made my way over to the toaster. From the horrible smell that was coming from my toaster, I could already tell I did something wrong.

I ran over as fast as I could and unplugged it. I don't understand how I can turn every simple job into a complicated one.

I sighed as I threw my burnt piece of toast out and decided to just skip breakfast.

I made my way to my room as I threw on my outfit and put on some light makeup. I tried braiding my short hair as I made my way down my stairs.

I could faintly hear my door bell go off, instantly making me think of maddie. I mean, she is the only one that really ever visits.

"Hello Millie," Maddie said with a bright smile. I never understood how she would always be happy in the mornings- especially Monday morning.

She opened her mouth to say one more thing but I cut her off with a nod and a smile. I could already tell what she wanted from the look on her face making me agree.

I opened up my math homework and slid the purple binder over to her as a way to say go ahead and copy.

"You know who called me last night? Finn." I said in disbelief as I jumped onto my table. . Maddie nodded her head, barley looking up from my work.

"And that's surprising because?" She asked. I furrowed my brows and crossed my arms in confusion.

"What do you mean?" I asked with a sudden worried feeling. Why was she not as surprised I was?

Slowly, she looked up from my binder and swallowed hard. "You don't remember calling Finn last night-"

"What?" I panicked. "I was drunk last night!"

"Millie!"

"Maddie!"

"I can't believe you millie!" She said as she stood up. I did the same as I jumped off the table and threw my hands onto either side of my face.
