chapter fourteen- gosh she annoys me
M I L L I E

I woke up to my mother shaking my leg as my alarm clock went off.

"Millie you need to get up now." She stated as she got off my bed. She crossed her arms as I sat up and rubbed my head.

"I'm driving you to school today." She started making her way to the door.

"I'm su-" I cut myself off, realizing that my mother did not know.

She turned around as she raised one of her eyebrows. "What was that?" I gave her a smile as I started to lie.

"I'm super excited that quiz I have today, that's all." She nodded her head before shutting my door as she left my room.

What have I gotten myself into this time?

I got up quickly as I made my way to wardrobe. Maybe after she dropped me off I could go to the mall.

I picked out one of my blue and red striped t-shirts and paired them with my ripped jeans. I quickly threw on my white oversized cardigan which matched my outfit perfectly.

I fixed my hair into a low ponytail before putting on my makeup.

I smiled at the thought of having no school and my mother not knowing about it. It felt like I'm on a vacation.

"Millie!" I heard my mother call from the kitchen. "Time to go!"

"I'll be there in a moment!" I yelled back as I grabbed my purse. Luckily I still had some cash in it from the last time I went shopping.

I slipped on some flats before running down the stairs. I grabbed my favourite scarf before making my way out to my mother's car.

I pulled out my phone as I did my up seatbelt. I quickly texted Maddie, hoping she would respond quickly.

Me: wanna ditch school with me and go to the mall?

I put my phone down as I focused on the road.

Maddie: your suspended if I remember correctly.

I rolled my eyes at the text but responded quickly.

Me: well my mother doesn't know that

I knew that if Maddie was here right now that she would be rolling her eyes and telling me why this plan is so stupid.

Maddie: fine, meet me at the front of the school.

I smiled brightly as I turned my phone off. I could see the high school from where we were making my smile grow even more.

"You can just drop me off at the mcdonald's." I said with a smile. That smile quickly left my face as I saw my mother shaking her head.

"Last time I did that you went to mcdonald's, not school." I frowned at the memory but smiled again as I realized how fun that was.

Maddie, Sadie and I would ditch school sometimes and meet at the mcdonald's. We would spend all of first and second period there, only making it back for lunch time, third period and forth period.

"I'm staying here until I see you go in the school, millie." She stated as we pulled up to the school. I could feel butterflies in my stomach as I hoped I would not get caught.

"Bye mum." I said as I jumped out of the car. I pulled a pair of sunglasses out of my purse, hoping that if I wore them, no one would recognize me.

I looked back to see her watching me, scaring me even more. As I made my way to the front steps, I saw someone else looking at me.

Oh shit.

"Millie what a lovely surprise," she fake smiled. "I thought you were suspended." I rolled my eyes at Sadie as she flipped her long red hair over her shoulder.

As I was about to say something to defend myself from her, she had already spoken.

"Is that your mother?" She half laughed in amusement. "She doesn't know, does she? Well I can most defiantly change that!" She linked her arm with mine before making her way over to my car. she dragged me behind her but i was to stunned to do anything to prevent what was about to happen.

"Why hello ms. Brown!" Sadie smiled as she leaned into the open car window.

Since I'm not close with my mother, she doesn't know much about my life. One of the things being my horrible relationship with Sadie. From the last thing I told her about Sadie, she thinks that we are still best friends that do everything together.

Oh how is that wrong.

"Oh hello Sadie how are you?" My mother asked with interested. She has always loved Sadie.

"I'm perfect," Sadie said as her smile grew. "And you?"

"Not bad." my mother smiled back.

Sadie nodded her head before looking down. I could faintly see her look at me from the corner of her eyes before looking back to my mother.

"I'm just confused you see," she started. I could feel my heart beating faster and faster with every second that went by. "I thought that when you get su-"

"Millie! Sadie!" We heard from behind, cutting Sadie off. We both turned in sync, coming face to face with Maddie. I could see her eyes shift to Sadie as a weird expression made its way to her face. "We should probably get to class if we don't want to be late."

I nodded my head before grabbing onto both Maddie and Sadie's arms and walking up to the front doors.

As I looked back to see that my mum had left, I let go of Sadie.

"What the hell Sadie!" I yelled quietly, not trying to gain any attention. she gave me a grin before sighing.

"Well, you are technically breaking the rules right now so I was just trying to help you not get in trouble." she said with pure confidence. I could feel the anger boiling up inside of me as I pressed my nails deep into the palm of my hand.

Maddie must have noticed since she grabbed onto my arms and gave Sadie a fake smile.

"We don't want to do that now do we?" she joked earning no reaction. I was to focused on the fact that Sadie literally almost got me killed.

"We are just going to go now and we will be out of everyone's hair," Maddie stated quickly as she started to pull my arm. "come on Mills."

we walked away, knowing Sadie was still watching.

gosh she annoys me.
