Nikki spent an hour in the bathroom, the biggest part of that hour being spent on washing his makeup off. Tommy was just lying there in peace, looking at him when he came out. "What?", Nikki questioned, lying down in bed next to his weird boyfriend. "I just love how natural you look right now", Tommy replied, making Nikki blush. "Uhm... Well, thank you", Nikki smiled, flattered by Tommy's remark. Tommy wrapped his arms around Nikki, kissing his forehead. But Nikki couldn't stop thinking about the scene in the elevator. "What were you gonna tell me?", he asked once again, cuddling closer to Tommy. "It was nothing, just forget about it", Tommy sighed, kind of rolling his eyes; Nikki really couldn't just let this go, huh? "No, really, tell me", Nikki continued. Tommy sighed once again. "You're gonna get pissed", he said simply. "Well, now I really wanna know", Nikki replied. Tommy figured that he wasn't going to get away with this anyway, so he might as well admit it already. "I read your diary", he said. Nikki just laughed. "I don't have a diary", he said, not quite understanding. Tommy didn't understand it either; whose diary did he read if it wasn't Nikki's? "Yeah you do", Tommy went on, "If you don't, then what the hell is that?" He pointed at the dusty notebook on the nightstand. "God, no!", Nikki exclaimed, jumping out of bed and grabbing the notebook tight, "You didn't read this, did you!?" Tommy shrugged. "So it is your diary?", he asked, smiling because he knew that he was right all along. Nikki just glared at him. "No. It's just... notes...", he said, stopping for a while, "Please tell me you didn't read it". Tommy hesitated, wondering how the hell he was going to explain this to Nikki. "Not all of it..." "Oh my god, Tommy!", Nikki exclaimed, almost interrupting, "Why?" Now he'd better come up with a good explanation. Tommy was still hesitating. "Well, at first I thought I was your lyrics", Tommy started, looking at Nikki who stood there with crossed arms, "But then when I found out that it wasn't, I was so hooked that I couldn't stop reading". Nikki didn't even know what to say. What if Tommy knew all of his absolutely darkest secrets? He couldn't live with that. "Well, uhm...", Nikki stuttered, "At least you were honest and told me, so I guess I'll have to forgive you for that..." Tommy was sitting on the edge of the bed, kind of relieved because Nikki was kind enough to forgive his shitty soul. "Thanks", he smiled, opening his arms to Nikki. They hugged, and then went back to bed. Still, as Nikki got the answers to all of his questions, Tommy still had several ones unanswered. He was still wondering about how Nikki really felt about him. He had made such a big deal out of it in his "notebook", that it had to be either really good, or really bad.
The next morning, they woke up in eachother's arms. "Morning, baby", Tommy yawned, stretching the sleep out of his body. "Morning", Nikki replied, giving Tommy a kiss. After getting dressed, they both went down to check out the hotel's breakfast buffet, where they met Vince and Mick. Both of them were drinking coffee. "Not a morning person?", Tommy remarked, laughing at the huge bags under Vince's eyes. "Not that either", Vince replied, trying to forget about his horrible hangover. Mick just liked coffee. As Tommy and Nikki went to take advantage of the free breakfast, Vince turned to Mick. "What's it with those two?", he asked, "They've been suspiciously much around eachother lately". Mick just shrugged, pretending not to know anything about the subject. Nikki and Tommy came back to the table where Vince and Mick were sitting, with plates full of ridiculous amounts of food. "So what's the plans for today?", Tommy asked, stuffing his face with bacon. "Mick and I were planning to just hang backstage", Vince said, "But you two can show up whenever you want to, as long as it's not too late". Well, that wasn't going to be a problem.
"So what do you wanna do today?", Tommy asked Nikki as they walked back to Tommy's hotel room. "I don't know", Nikki started, about to suggest the movies when his world suddenly stopped spinning. "Hi, Nikki!", this blonde guy said, passing them in the hallway. Fuck, he had forgotten about Duff. "Hi...", Nikki mumbled. When Duff was out of sight, Tommy turned to Nikki, distracted by this stranger. "Hey, who was that?", he asked, not mad or anything, just curious. "Oh, that was Duff, just some guy I met last time I was here", Nikki replied, kind of freaking out because Tommy might find out about what happened, even if it was practically nothing. "Some guy?", Tommy repeated, now even more curious since Nikki's words didn't explain anything at all, "Nikki, what did you do?" He was simply asking about what they did together, by that meaning if they had any fun while Nikki was still in Vegas, but Nikki got it the wrong way. "Nothing!", he quickly responded. "Uh... OK...", Tommy said, starting to get slightly suspicious as Nikki wasn't acting normal, "Nikki... What did you do..?" Nikki swallowed, looking around the hallway in panic. "We did nothing, I promise!", he finally said, making Tommy's chin drop. "We!? Nikki, I meant you!", Tommy exclaimed, "I'm not gonna repeat this again, Nikki. What did you do?" Nikki's eyes were tearing up, and he was running out of excuses. "It was only one kiss...", he mumbled, looking down at the floor, watching his tears hit the orange rug. "You kissed him!?", Tommy yelled, "You were here making out with this random guy, while I was back in L.A. worrying sick about you!? How could you do that!?" The tears kept flowing down Nikki's cheeks, making stains of makeup on his shirt. "No, it's not like that!", he said, "You don't und-" "No, I do understand!", Tommy interrupted, "I thought I could trust you, Nikki..." Nikki tried to frantically wipe away the tears, but they wouldn't stop running. "You can!", he exclaimed, looking for hope in Tommy's eyes, but failing in seeing anything but disappointment. "No... Apparently I can't...", Tommy said, almost whispering, now just looking at the rug, not having any trust left to even look at Nikki. "I'm sorry", Nikki sobbed. He tried explaining to him that it was just one kiss, and that it didn't mean anything, but he was choking on his own tears; not a word would come out. "Sure... But sorry won't be enough this time", Tommy said, for once managing to hold his sadness on the inside, "I guess this was how you really felt about me". Nikki couldn't speak; not a word. He just stood there staring at the floor, smearing his eyeliner all over his cheeks, trying to control his sobbing. Then Tommy turned around, not managing to just stand there anymore. "Goodbye, Nikki", Tommy said, leaving him all alone in the hallway.
