Remus' POV
I woke up the next morning, surprisingly well rested. I turned my head and nearly jumped out of my own skin. Laying next to me was none other than Vanessa. She had her back to me, but I could tell she was breathing. I calmed down and gently turned her over. What I saw next nearly made my heart stop.
Her shirt was stained with red. Gashes in her chest showed that I had hurt her. Tears sprung to my eyes as I looked at the damage. I had hurt my friend. I hurt Vanessa.
What was she doing here? What happened last night? Did she follow me? Or was she already here? Why didn't I kill her?
So many questions flew around my head, but I knew I needed to wait for her to wake up before I got any answers. A few minutes later, Vanessa's eyes fluttered open.
"Good morning," she greeted. "Sleep well?"
"Yes. I am wondering, however, why are you here?" I replied. "And I'm more worried about you."
"I followed you. And I will take care of myself later."
"What happened?"
"Well, I spoke a few words that were written down that help calm and, I guess you could say, tame a werewolf. Another werewolf, an adult, came in and was trying to kill me. You stopped him. If you hadn't stepped in, I would've died. You saved my life."
I was silent, slowly remembering the events of the night before.
"You're not going to tell anyone, are you?" I asked, nervous.
"Not a soul," she promised. "It's up to you. Your secret, your choice. If you promise to keep a secret, I will tell you mine."
I nodded, swearing to not tell anyone. If she didn't reveal my secret, I wouldn't reveal hers.
"This might sound completely insane, but it's true. I'm from the future. My real name is Alexa Potter. Twin sister of Harry Potter. Harry and I are the children of Lily Evans and James Potter. I know it sounds completely impossible and insane, but Dumbledore sent me on a mission to stop Tom Riddle, a Slytherin, from turning evil. In my time, Tom is known as Lord Voldemort. He killed tons of people, including James and Lily Potter. I have to stop him, but you must swear not to tell a soul about this. Please," she explained.
I was stunned. It did sound impossible, but I could tell by the way she spoke and her tone of voice that it was true. I always kept my promises, and this is one I would keep hidden even if you tortured me to get the information. I wouldn't tell anyone without her permission.
"I swear upon my life I will not tell anyone. Not even James," I told her softly.
"Almost forgot to mention. Sirius is Harry's godfather in my time. To me and Harry, you're like... an uncle, I guess you could say. Sirius took on the role of our father, but you're always there for us," she added.
I chuckled.
"Sirius? A father figure?" I asked.
"Yes. Anyway, we should get back to school. Just so you know, I'm coming with you every full moon," she said.
I sighed and shook my head. I already knew she was too stubborn to stay in the castle, so I agreed. She disappeared under her Cloak, and we left the Shack. We arrived on the school grounds to find Madam Pomfrey and Professor McGonagall waiting for us.
"Vanessa," McGonagall said.
Vanessa, or Alexa, though I would always call her Vanessa, took off her Cloak and looked at her.
