We got off the bus and walked to my house. It was Friday, so Lily was staying at my house. We got a call from one of our friends asking if we could come over but we couldn't. We started this weird conversation, which began when I asked Lily, "Is the sky made out of pudding?"
"Pudding?! What is wrong with you?!"
"Nothing much... Just thinking about the fact you like the Mullet!!" I screamed. We were here alone, so it was good. Followed by,"Or maybe his little brother!!" Lily tackled me and we went tumbling off my bed onto the floor. I groaned and she made a weird shrieking sound. I asked her why the hell she would make such a horrific sound and all she did was point. She was a little bit more of a fraidy-cat than me, so I turned, expecting it to be like a spider or something. I was met with eyes, watching us. I sucked in a breath and sighed. "Wren, come out of the shadows weirdo." I tossed a pillow in his direction, but was met with no reaction. It felt a little off. Wren would have thrown it back. "Wren? That is you... Right?" I questioned warily. I was met with a snarled no. Lily screamed and I leaped forward to slam and lock the door. I had Lily help me, and we shoved some of my heaviest bins and things in front of the door. We made sure to leave a small space between the bottom bins so I could check under the door every so often. There were currently three phones in my room; mine, a home phone, and Lily's. On mine, I called Wren, Lily tried for our parents, which didn't work, and I dialed 911 on the home phone. I reported that someone had broke into my house. They said they would send over an officer right away. Lily and I sat on my bed and waited for an officer to get here. I got up and looked out the window as I heard a car pull up. The officer had arrived and it was a woman. She called the phone number we had called with and I answered on the first ring. She said, "Is this Cameron?"
"Yes."
"Alright. How are you two doing? The front door is unlocked but closed... Did you do that?"
"Um... No we haven't left my room. He was just standing out there watching us."
"Oh. Could he have heard the phone call?"
"It's possible."
"Alright. I have to go now. I'm about to come in."
I hung up the phone and listened as the door opened. What I didn't expect was to hear a scream as soon as the door shut.
