Clarke's POV
"Can I ask you something?" Her eyes lingered on her fingers that played with the loops of my jeans absentmindedly.
"Sure"
"Do you have any family"
"Technically. Yes, but, my real family is.. not here " even drunk she still had that invisible barrier, I still wanted to break it down, I wanted to see who the real Lexa is. Nobody can be as cold as that all the time, right?
"What happened to them?"
"My parents died in a fire and under the collapsed building, the rest of my family has shunned me ever since they found out I'm..gay." She shrugged, her eyes flickering up to mine, her voice lowering and hesitant at the word 'gay' as if she were afraid to say it. As if she were afraid to tell me. "What about you?"
"Huh?" I looked down at her in confusion, she smirked meeting my eyes and moving closer.
"I said, what about your family?" Our faces were mere inches apart ,one hand absentmindedly fumbling with my jeans, the other at her side as she rested against the same pillow as me.
"I only have my mom, my dad died last year. Of course, I have my extended family, so yeah. That's my boring story." Her eyes narrowed at the mention of my dad.
"What happened with your dad?"
"He died. In a car crash, a drunk driver hit him by mistake, though he's very kind. He paid for the whole funeral, came to pay his respects and stood by us when we cried." Lexa listened intently, her hand slid into mine once she caught sight of my eyes watering.
"It's okay." She whispered softly, intertwining our fingers and giving my hand a squeeze.
"I know" I whispered with a small smile, watching as she returned the lazy smile, relaxing into her pillows.
"It sucks to lose people" she mumbled, her breath soon coming in even breaths, with her eyes fluttering closed. Her chest rising and falling in a repetitive rhythm, her eyes closed and her mouth slightly agape.
"Yeah, it does"
I laid there for a few minutes, taking it in, before a very drunk Monty decided to barge in.
"Claaaaaarkiiiee..! Jasper left me for some brunette chick and I'm lonely" he flopped onto the bed, I quickly shot up causing Lexa's eyebrows to furrow together and pout while reaching for the empty space besides her. I smiled slightly, before returning my attention to Monty who was now laying face first on the carpet covered floor.
"Shh..! Okay, go get everybody outside by the car I'll be there soon." I quickly shooed him out of the room, once he left I got Lexa a glass of water and Advil, setting it besides her. Taking once glance of the one time I got to see a vulnerable state of Lexa, I rushed out of the room, closing the door behind me and rounding a group of drunk teenagers.
"Raven! In the car, Monty and Jasper go in. Jasper, Maya already left so just get in." I quickly ushered everyone into the car, trying to understand their intoxicated fumbling sentences.
"Where's my girlfriennnd.." Raven groaned, resting her head on the chair.
"O went with Lincoln." I smirked, knowing I can use this to tease Raven tomorrow morning. Luckily, I was smart enough to have everyone write down their addresses beforehand, knowing they'll be wasted after.
"Where's Maya.."
"She's not here! Stop asking, Jesus!"
"Do you even believe in Jesus??"
