Song Suggestion: Hurricane - Bridget Mendler

The day was tiring for me. I spent it dodging almost everyone I had been acquainted with. I can't believe Paris. I leave for a few weeks and she turns to Grace. I never knew she was so impressionable.

Sigh, anyway I have to go to my locker to unload and fetch some textbooks. After fetching the necessary textbooks I walked to my car. There was a hooded figure leaning against my car. The car park was almost empty because all the students rush out after school.

I was going to sneak up and attack from behind but the figure then spoke, "Don't even think about it Kensi," they said.

I immediately froze in my tracks. The figure turned around and a gasp escaped me. It was Jake.

He had cuts and bruises all over his face. And a black eye. "Kensi-" he started but I cut him off.

"What happened to your face!?" I shrieked.

He shushed me and instructed me to keep my volume low. "I can't help you anymore, I'm sorry. The first thing they do is take away your choices," he said. Wait; that sounds familiar. My eyes widened at the memory. A few months ago William had said that after he used me. Whoever this person is, they're trying to isolate me.

"So you're just going to leave me? After all these years of friendship?" I asked, my tone incredulous.

"It's much bigger than that. We opened up a can of worms," he informed me.

"Goodbye Kensi," Jake bid.

"I'm never going to see you again, am I?" I asked, my eyes becoming glossy.

He weakly smiled and gently shook his head.

"Well... then I guess this is it," I mumbled. Looking at the ground.

I didn't care, I hugged my best friend. He winced at first, they must have pummeled him. Jake hugged me back. I wiped a stray tear, "Goodbye Jake," I said.

"Whatever happens, I'm sorry. Goodbye Kensi," those were his last words.

I watched his silhouette become smaller and smaller. I glanced at the ground and looked up - his figure vanished.

And just like that... Jake Davis was gone with the wind.

I used my set of house keys to enter my house. There were rummaging sounds coming from upstairs. Oh hell no. The intruder must not have heard me enter. They must not be trained then. Fortunately, I was wearing tekkies that don't squeak. I stealthily walked upstairs. It was coming from my room. I peered through the crack in my door and saw them rummaging through all my drawers looking for something. The book.

My hair was in a French plait and I was wearing tekkies, skinny jeans and a tank top with a hoodie. The intruder was dressed in all black.

Ethan then came jogging up the stairs, his shoes thumping on the wood. I placed my finger over my lip, signaling him to keep quiet. He immediately stopped in his tracks. Unfortunately, the intruder had heard. The rummaging stopped. I mentally cursed Ethan. I signed a stop gesture to him, and gestured for him to stay there.
