"There's nothing holding me back," I sung along to the song flowing through my ears from my earphones. It was six am and I had just come back from a run. I was sporting grey three quarter sweatpants, black Nike tekkies and a tank top with a cream hoodie, my hear was tied in a ponytail.
I was pouring coffee into a mug when arms wrapped around my waist and a kiss was planted on my cheek. I turned around and smiled at Chase. "Good morning," he said, his voice raspy.
"Hi," I chirped. Chase's arms were still wrapped around my waist.
"As much as I'd love to have you hugging me for hours we have to get to school," I said, before taking a sip of my coffee.

I was walking down the hallway when someone called out my name.
I turned around and it was coach. I walked towards him and smiled, "Hey Coach."
"Hey kid, I was wondering if you'd be up to coaching the team again?"
I needed to find out who was messaging me, "Sure," I replied.
After school I grabbed my backpack from my locker and was walking to the girls locker room to change. I put on my sports kit and exited the back door leading to the field. Wow, it feels like ages since I'd been here.
I braced myself for the shock that was about to echo throughout the team. I hadn't told anyone I'd be the new coach. I shut my eyes for a second, overthinking everything and then I jumped into a pool of courage, blowing the red whistle hanging around my neck. All of their heads snapped to me, each of their eyes masking curiosity and shock.
I cleared my throat and said, "I'm back as Coach, two laps around the field."
And the awkwardness continued for the remaining two hours.

"Hey babe," someone hollered. Holy damn. I didn't expect it to come out like this.
I shut my eyes and turned around, quickly opening them and shot a quick smile at Chase. "Hey, you," I said, playfully punching him in the shoulder.
His eyebrows furrowed in confusion at my behavior. I pretending to look at him while my vision scanned the teammates facial expressions, yup, definitely awestruck.
"Wanna go for coffee after I shower?"
I nodded in reply and swung my backpack over my shoulder, heading to my car. We had agreed to meet there. From my peripheral vision I saw Chase head into the locker room.
"KENSI!" a plethora of voices shouted.
I turned around, my hands latched on the strap of my backpack. Chase was no where in sight... but the rest of the team certainly was. In case you didn't know, Parker was kicked off the team and Mason got the spot... thank goodness, he deserved it. All of them were lined up and it looked like they had prepared something.
Elliot: Kensi, words can't even begin to describe how sorry we are.
Cody: It may look like we betrayed your trust, but...
Jace: Not everything is as it seems.
Zack: Even if you still think we're jerks,
Cole: We'll always be there for you.
Shawn: And all will be revealed soon.
Ethan: Just hang in there baby sis.
Justin: As this wise guy, I think his name was Shawn Mendes?
I chuckled at that.
Asher: Sometimes it all gets a little too much, but soon the fog will clear up.
William: And as someone wise once said, in the end it will be alright,
Mason: And if it's not alright, it's not the end.
"It's not the end," I finished with Mason.
Shawn then walked towards me, handing me an envelope. The writing scribbled on the face of the creamy envelope stated, As promised x .
I opened the enveloped, my mouth couldn't even articulate a reply. I stood there like a gaping fool.
"No freaking way!!!" I screamed, okay that wasn't what I actually said but you get the picture.
Inside was a VIP Madison Square Garden Shawn Mendes concert ticket. I think I'm going to go die in a hole now. I started squealing and jumping up and down. I finally looked up and all of them were holding the same tickets. They wouldn't... or would they?
Arms wrapped around my waist and Chase whispered in my ear, "Apology accepted?"
"Well bribery isn't going to earn you all my friendship back, you're going to have to work for it,"I declared and they nodded.
"Apology sorta... accepted," I weakly smiled.
Immediately I was huddled with hugs and hollers, being thrown in the air.I put too much faith in people, maybe that's why a part of me fades every time no one's there to catch me.
In that moment everything became a blur and I seemed to have forgotten my greatest flaw was that I trust too easily.
