"You can't go," my mother stated, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"What do you mean I can't go!?" I asked, my tone incredulous.

"Kensi, there are only boys going," my father added.

I stared at them, creasing my forehead in frustration.

"Ethan's going to be there!" I cried, brother you're my last resort - this better work.

"Kensi, no." My mother stated again. Oh please, I don't need their permission - Ethan just happened to slip up at breakfast this morning. It's Wednesday - I need to get convincing.

Ethan then came and plopped on the couch sighing, "You both do realize she's the rebel and won't listen to you," he explained.

My mother and father shared a knowing look and then locked gazes with me.

"Go," my father simply stated. My reaction wasn't the normal teenage squealing and showering my parents with "I love you's" and "thank you's", no mine was . . . Unique.

"Took you long enough," I said, rolling my eyes and walking upstairs.

My phone then buzzed, I picked it up and saw a message on whatsapp. I was added to a group? Football? Oh yeah, I coach the team - makes sense.
