NEW LIFE

With new life comes new love

but with new life, more are taken above.

With each death, one is born,

but with each death, more will mourn.

Both are beautiful in their own way,

One causes smiles,

While one causes powerful dismay.

But the love for each can never be fully equaled

To any other emotion,

And that sends everyone a good notion.

A queen and her kits lay there in the nest,

But the she-cat's eyes are clouded with pain,

Her mate has died, not even for the best.

Just when she thought their was nothing to gain,

The queen looked down and smiled,

reminded of what should be cherished,

the remnants of what was lost,

repairing what the sadness had cost.
