BEASTLY

What little humanity hides inside

It hardly hangs by a thread.

What little love lingered in my heart has died

Don't try to resurrect it, it's permanently dead.

When did you decide

That bringing me into this war was the answer?

Since when were your words rules I have to abide?

The painful truth is spreading like cancer.

This was a part of myself I was forced to find

Just to make things more clear,

No, it's not a part of myself I necessarily mind.

At first it sparked nothing in me other than fear,

Now watch as I loose myself and fall farther from kind,

But instead, bittersweet agony draws near.

Leave me colder.

Leave me a soldier.

No longer will I ever run to you

No longer will I ever cry upon your shoulder.

Stand on the sidelines and do what you do

Watch the monster I've become as you hold her, she hasn't got a clue.

Even so you must be granted my thanks

No longer do I feel so strongly.

My eyes are dull of emotion, nothing but blank.

Pain is now nothing to me, due to your actions done so wrongly.

You left me stronger.

You left me somber.

Though my heart is shattered

My soul forlorn,

None of that matters.

I am now reborn.

I've learned from my mistakes.

Trust will never come so easily,

It's sad that only now is there nothing at stake.

Now watch me stare you down and reveal your sins.

I am beastly.
