I heard coughing from our room and I set my fork down. Corbyn was the only one in our room so I called out to him.
"Corbyn?" I yelled. No response. I walked faster to our room and I saw him with his head buried in Rangers fur. I sat down on the bed and rubbed his back.
"What's wrong?" I asked. He lifted his head and his eyes were puffy and his nose was red. He sniffled.
"Look. It's from Ranger." He said, holding out a cloth. I stared at the big red spot on it and my hands slicked with sweat.
"He is drooling blood." He sobbed, doubled over with heartache.
"Let me call the vet and see when we can get him in." I said, my voice cracking. I dialed the vet.
"Hello this is Jane, how am I help you?" The vet asked.
"Hi um, my dog ranger is drooling what seems to be blood. When can we get him in?" I asked. I heard the clicking of computer keys and then muffled voices.
"Bring him in now if you can please." She said.
"Thank you." I hung up.
"Lets go. We are going to the vet now.

"Well, we can take some samples, but it seems to be internal bleeding or poisoning. Do you have any rodent or bug poisons in your house?" Jane asked. I thought.
"We have some ant poison things but those are on the counter. I don't know how he could have gotten to those." I replied. She nodded and continued listening to his lungs. She pressed on his stomach and he threw up.
"Ewwwww!" Alex screamed. The vet ran and got some paper towels and wiped it up.
"How about we let him stay over nigh while we do some tests." She said.
"Ok. Call us if something happens." I said. We all said goodbye to Ranger and walked out of the building.
