I tore open the red paper and there was a cardboard box inside with marker scribbles all over it. I opened it up and inside was a clay figure. I pulled it out and it was a brown, black, and white dog. It was Ranger. It was on a wooden base and it had a heart and Ranger written on it in crayon. I was in awe. My little boy made this when Ranger passed away. I walked to the dining room and set it down on the middle of the table. It will stay there forever now. A thought pops into my head as I'm staring at the present Alex made me. I run to our room and stop in the door way. Corbyn looks at me, surprised. I catch my breath, then I blurt out

"I want a daughter."
