Don't ask, I had the idea when I was in church for the Sunday morning worship hour. As I type, can't help but hope that Hurricane Irma/Jose won't kill me this week. And also...if you would like to, I dunno, leave suggestions for this book, that'd be swell. Thanks.
(3rd Person Point of View!)
Lil' Clay was clinging to his mother fearfully as he stared at the front door of his new school. "Mother, I don't wanna go in there...why can't I stay with you?" Clay whimpered. His mother reached down to rub his forehead. "You won't want to go and be with me and my boring old job. You'll make so many new friends here. I know you'll have fun." Suddenly the bell rang. His mother straightened his backpack straps. "Okay, well, have a good day, sweetie." She kissed his forehead and walked off from the school.
Clay slowly walked into the school to be greeted by a few teachers. He was shown his cabinet to put his things in and he looked around anxiously for his class. Once he reached it, he never could imagine the number of kids in there.
His focus was set on these two weird things in the corner, taunting a couple of other kids. One was a kid dressed as a jester and the other was literally a talking book, held up by a smaller kid. "Give me my backpack, Jestro! It's mine!!" A redheaded girl angrily reached around the jester to grab her stolen backpack. "Ha ha! If you want it, you're gonna have to come get it, you sheep!" He replied as he shoved her to the ground.
Clay took a few steps toward them. "Hey, you shouldn't be that way to girls! She didn't do anything to you, you big meanie!" Clay said as he looked down to the girl. Jestro threw the backpack to the ground and pushed Clay against a wall. "Who do you think you are, huh?! You must be new." He rolled his eyes and grunted angrily as he walked away with his book. Clay set his eyes down to the girl on the floor.
He picked up her backpack and handed it to her. "Are you okay, miss?" He grabbed her hand and helped her up. "Yeah, I can usually take up for myself but I let my guard down a little. My name is Macy." "You're the princess?!" Clay gasped. He remembered his Uncle telling him about the royal family but he never thought he would meet one; at kindergarten of all places. "Ugh, yeah. It's not as cool as it sounds, trust me." The teachers came to the couple. "Okay, kids, get to your seats, you don't wanna be the new slackers of this school, do ya?" The kids giggled and scrambled to find some good seats.
Clay took a seat near the front and looked behind him. Jestro and his talking book were in the very back, and he guessed they were trying to look cool with their serious faces. Jestro and Clay locked eyes as Jestro tried to give him a menacing look. Clay's attention turned to the teacher when he tapped a ruler on his desk.
Time Skip brought to you by Wal-Mart for no reason whatsoever.
A bell rang extremely loudly, indicating that it was snack time. Clay and Macy sat together and shared their snacks. A few kids sat beside them. One wore green, one wore yellow/purple, and the other one wore white and blue. They introduced themselves to Clay and sat with him.
"So, I heard you met Jestro?" Lance groaned as he made mini stacks out of his carrot sticks. Clay nodded as he took a bite out of his peanut butter cracker. "Ugh, he's kinda like a rotten apple. You don't know he's mean until you take a bite out of him." Aaron said as he chewed on his turkey sandwich. "Wait, you bit him?!" Clay squeaked. "No, are you kidding? I wouldn't touch him with a stick." Aaron laughed.
Unfortunately, there weren't many seats in the classroom. So guess who came rolling up to them...Jestro and his book.
They sat down as the others slid down as far as they could to not sit near him. Macy tried to talk to him. "Um....hel-." "I'm not here to talk, if you can't see, there weren't any other places to sit." He abruptly muttered. "Oh. I was just going to offer you this." She held out a slice of apple. He wrinkled his nose as he stared at it. He snatched it out her hand and broke it in half. He popped one half into his mouth and put the other in the book's mouth.
Clay stood up and walked over to Jestro. "Shouldn't you say that you're sorry to Macy?" "What for?" "Taking her backpack and shoving her to the ground. It was mean." Clay backed up to allow space between Macy and Jestro. Jestro stared at her. "Uh,..........sorry?" He shrugged, obviously not knowing how to apologize. Macy smiled and threw her arms around his neck.
He freaked out, his eyes bulging out the sockets almost, muttering incoherently. She pulled away and saw the confused and honestly terrified jester. "Er, are you okay, Jestro?" He nodded and tried to cover his red face. If the group didn't know any better, they'd say that he was blushing. But he ran off before they could tell.

As Clay waited anxiously for his mother to come to pick him up, he saw Jestro leaned up against a tree. "Hey, psst!" Clay swiveled his head around to see who made the sound. Jestro walked closer to him and whispered in his ear a little. Clay's eyes widened as Jestro asked a favour of him. "Um. Why won't you?" "Ugh, just do it or I'll punch you in the chest." Clay finally nodded his head and went to find Macy.
He turned a corner and clung to it, seeing Macy, drinking apple juice and talking to a couple of other girls. He hesitated going to her but once she saw him, it was too late. "Oh, hey, Clay. What's up!" "Uh, I need to tell you something." "What is it?" Clay tensed up and choked out, "J-Jestro wanted me to tell you....h-he um..likes you."
Macy choked on her apple juice that she was drinking and her face turned almost as red as an apple itself. "Wait...'like' like? Or like as like, 'I wanna marry you' like?" She fidgeted with her long, red ponytail. "I dunno, he didn't say. He was red enough to figure it out. But he went back to talk with his book before I could ask him." Macy leaned against the wall, completely flustered. "Is it because I hugged him? Is that why he likes me? Or is it because I shared my snack with him..?" She whispered to herself as she slid down the wall, giggling slightly.
Clay heard his mother calling his name before he could respond to her. "Oh, it's my mum. It was nice to meet you, Princess Macy!" Clay said as he dashed down the hallway to his mother.
Macy, on the other hand, was swooning over the knight in-...um,....jester in shining...velvet..?
So, a little Irma-update! I'm not dead! That's pretty successful in itself. But I could still have a possibility of power-outages and trees down and all sorts of other rubbish. But so far, I'm fine!
