Ethan's POV

"It looks like it's just a minor sprain, Ethan," Dr. Beel said.

Is it bad that our doctor refers us by our first names? We visit him so often. Oh well, it's just a little sprain. That never stopped me from anything.

"What's the estimated time of recovery?" Gray asked for me.

"I saw maybe two months," Dr. Beel said checking something off on a paper.

"Ah, okay. That ain't bad," Ethan shrugged.

Dr. Beel chuckled, "I expect to only see you if you're sick and for your check up Ethan. No more injuries for this month. You guys have a good day now."

"Thank's Dr. Beel," me and Gray said at the same time.

All three of us laughed. Ethan hopped off the table and we both walked out of there.

"Are we going back home now?" I asked.

"Yeah, you need your rest...and I do too. Today was a lot of unpacking and a lot of bills. I can't handle it," Gray joked.

"Okay," I laughed and got in the jeep.

On our way home, we were endlessly talking to each other. Sometimes we'd just talk and ignore the other, which was pretty normal.

"When do we start school?" I asked Gray.

"Uh, not tomorrow but the next day."

"Ugh, I really don't want to go to school."

"I don't either but we made an agreement with mom that we'd try public school again."

"Why couldn't we just tell her why we quit in the first place? Then she'd let us stay in homeschooling."

"Because we also agreed not to tell mom about it. She already has enough to deal with. We've been nothing but a pain to her all our lives."

"Yeah, that's true," I said resting my arm on the window ledge.

"Besides, we need friends. We never get out much."

"That's a lie, we're outside all the time," I pointed out.

"I mean with other people. I'm not saying we need to spend all our time with people, but we need to mingle. There's a reason why we're so awkward when we talk to people."

It's because we've always had each other. Everyone else left, but we always were together. We've only been a mere two days apart. Maybe three. Otherwise, we were inseparable. To be honest, I didn't want to meet anyone else. I only wanted to talk to Gray. I told him everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. Sometimes I regret telling him, but at the end of the day, I'm glad that I had him to fall back on. I just hated the thought of him moving on and hanging out with everyone else but me. I don't ever want that to happen.

Gray parked the car and we went up to our apartment in silence, which was unusual. We estimated that within we'd have four noise complaints and an eviction paper. Then we'd have to move back into our house. With our mom and her new "boyfriend". Gray unlocked the door for me and we walked in. I turned on the kitchen lights and got a glass of water.

"Hey man, I'm going to bed. I'll wake you up in the morning," Gray said leaving the room.

"Sounds good man,"I took a long swig of water.

I couldn't wake up to alarms. I never had issues sleeping. Well, maybe it was a bad thing. I slept like a bear in hibernation. Gray, on the other hand, was always kinda restless in a way. He wanted to sleep and just lay around but he never could. Oh well. I set the glass by the sink and went to my own room. I stripped off my clothes, only in my underwear (yeah, I slept like that, judge, I don't care) and crawled under the covers. I plugged my phone in and went to sleep.
