Gray's POV

I've been waiting for Sky to come over forever it seems like. It's 4:10 now but I'm still anxious. I mean, over text everything seemed fine, but everything's always different over texts. My phone started to buzz. I looked over and saw that it was my mom. I picked up the phone.

"Hey," I answered. I haven't talked to my mom since she left.

"Hey sweetie, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing good. I'm getting ready to go meet Sky."

"Oh shoot, is it a bad time? I can call back later," worry rushed in her voice.

"Oh no, you're fine mom. I still have a while before I meet her, how are you?" I reassured her.

She ignored my question," Are you and Sky going on a date?"

"No, we actually had a fight a few nights ago and we're going to talk it through," I said.

The happiness in her voice washed away," Oh, I'm sorry. I hope you two can both forgive each other. Are you guys dating or was this just a friend fight?"

"No, we've been a thing for a while now," it sounds weird telling my mom this over the phone but I've always been awkward as hell talking on the phone with someone else.

"Oh okay," She stopped speaking for a moment. I knew she what she was going to ask, " Is there any update on Ethan?"

"I wish I could tell you there was," Pain shot in my chest.

"Okay," She sounded like she was hiding something.

"Is everything okay?" I asked her.

"Oh yes, I'm just worried about him, ya know," She sounded way to suspicious.

Whatever it was, I'm sure she was keeping from me for a good reason. I'll just ask her about it later.

"So graduation," She started.

"No mom, don't even think about throwing a party," I spat.

"Oh come on, you know it'd be fun!" She said with enthusiasism.

"Mom," I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"Fine, no party."

"If there's a surprise party," I pressed.

"I know, I know! It's just that you're going to graduate and that's the last time you'll be in highschool and my little baby will be all grown up."

Oh brother, "Mom, everythings going to be fine. Cameron's still your little girl, so I'll still be your little boy."

"You better be."

"Yeah yeah," I chuckled.

"Well sweetie, I just wanted to see how you were doing. I hope you've been enjoying yourself. I have to start prepping dinner for Cameron and her new boyfriend."

"Okay, thanks for calling ma," I smiled. Cameron was always the spoiled one.

"Alright, I love you."

"I love you too."

"Bye."

"Bye," I ended the call.

Mom and I didn't really ever talk much on the phone so it's always been hard for us to keep a conversation that way. I looked at the time. It's only 4:25. It takes Sky about 10 minutes to get home from work so she should be here by 4:40. I decided to surprise her with dinner so I'm going to make her favorite breakfast dish.

I started the pan and prepped the pancake mix. I already cut up the fruit so that was easy. I popped some toast in the toaster I invested in and got out the butter to soften it a little bit. I heard my phone ding. It was Sky.

Sky: Hey, I'll be there in 10 minutes

Grayson: Sounds good :)

I put my phone back down and poured some of the pancake mix into the hot pan.

15 pancakes later and I was done. I thimk 16 would be enough for us. She eats like a freaking bird so I'm not too worried. I buttered the toast and as I was doing that I heard a knock.

"Come in," I yelled and Sky opened the door.

She took off her shoes and she walked over to me in the kitchen.

"Hey," She smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck pulling me in for a kiss.

"Hey," I said after the kiss.

"Did you surprise me with dinner?"She looked around at the messy counter tops.

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't."

"What'd you make?"

"Your favorite."

"My favorite what? Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?"

"What do ya think?"

She took a moment and smelled the air. Then it hit her.

"Oh my gosh I haven't had pancakes in forever!" She squealed.

"You mean since this morning," I laughed.

"No," she bopped my nose, "I mean like two weeks."

"Whoah, are you feeling okay?" I felt her forehead.

"No, I've been terrible sick," then she prettended to cough on me.

"Ew that's gross. Stop," I laughed as she chased me around the kitchen and living room.

"Okay I'm done," She said finally.

"Good, can we eat?"

"Yes," she laughed.
